Have you ever been to the beach and seen the people with the metal detectors? Ever made fun of em? Don’t do that

What are they looking for?

Braddock field - let’s say you’re bored one summer and you decide to take one of those metal detectors and you come on over to Braddock and you are looking for treasure

I do know some guy lost a gold ring there last winter

But let’s say you are searching.....beep.....beep

And you find something, you dig and lo and behold, you find an absolute fortune...

Salvation/Christ is so valuable that = you’re willing to give up everything to have it

Men would tie rocks to their waist to find pearls

pearls in these days was the highest valued thing on earth

Roman leaders would wear a bunch at one time to flaunt how rich they were

They’d even dissolve pearls in vinegar and drink them with their wine to prove how much money they have

merchant comes along to one of these men who risked their life for this pearl, or just happens to find one washed up on shore and it is of great value, and at once goes away and sells everything he has to buy that pearl

why would he do that?
