Greatest Commandment to Great Commission: Seven Woes
Is greatest commandment to the Great Commission and we're looking at these passion week teachings of Jesus? We're in chapter 23 of the Book of Matthew today. So if you guys want to go ahead and turn their it'll pop up on the screen to I'm sure our tech people always seem to take care of us really well with that. So
this is it's still as Isley and I were talking about this as we were looking at it and just going to cuz I was looking at and studying and prepping this way cuz I it's amazing to me that all of this. Seems to happen so quickly within the seven day. From Jesus's triumphal entry into Jerusalem in chapter 21 till his so we see him giving the Great Commission after his resurrection of inverse 28. There's this is the seven-day period of time and
I'm I feel like I'm being generous and saying that everything that's happening in chapter 22 and 23 might be happening on Monday it still maybe Sunday afternoon at this stuff's happening so quickly what what's in just a time frame that we know it's chapter 26 is when he pressed the Lord's supper and they're starting to celebrate the Passover and all that sort of stuff that was on and until this is all happening so quickly. Chapter 23 is a direct.
continuation of what was happening in chapter 22 and as we read through the scripture will see that let's go ahead. We're in chapter 23 of work at verse 1.
We're going to read all of it. There's a ton here. It's me tee. It's chunky. It's good stuff. So I'm excited about it this morning. So then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples the scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses seat. So do an observe what they tell you. But not the works they do they preach but they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens hard to bear and lay them on people's shoulders but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by others or they make their phylacteries Broad and their fringes long and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogue and greetings in the marketplace. I mean called Rabbi by others. You are not to be called Rabbi for you have one teacher.
And all and you are all Brothers. And no man your father and call no man your father on Earth for you have one father who is in heaven? Neither be called instructors for you have one instructor the Christ the greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Oh woe to you scribes and Pharisees Hypocrites for you. Shut the kingdom of heaven and people's faces for you. Neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in road to you scribes and Pharisees Hypocrites where you travel across the sea and land to make a single prostatite and when he becomes a prostatite you make him twice as much a child of hell is yourselves road to you blind guy to say anyone if anyone swears by the temple is nothing but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple his Bound by his oath you blind fools Which is greater the gold or the temple that is made the gold sacred. And you say if anyone swears by the altered is nothing but if anyone swears by the gift that is on the author alter he is bound by his oath you blind men. Which is greater the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred. To whoever swears by the altar swears by it and everything on it never swears by the temple swears by it and by him who dwells in it and whoever swears by Heavens swears by The Throne of God and by him who sits upon it. Woe to you scribes and Pharisees Hypocrites you tithe mint and Dill and cumin and you have neglected the weightier matters of the law Justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done without neglecting the others to Blind guides straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel.
Woe to you scribes and Pharisees Hypocrites you clean the outside of the cup in the plate. But inside they're full of greed and self-indulgence blind Pharisee first clean the inside of the cup in the plate and the outside may also be clean Flow To You scribes and Pharisees hypocrites For you are like whitewashed tombs with outwardly which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanliness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others but within your full of hypocrisy and lawlessness to you scribes and Pharisees hypocrites. Are you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous ink if we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in the shedding of the blood of the prophets. If you witness to yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets go up then measure go up then the measure of your father's you serpent you brood of vipers. How are you to escape being sentenced to hell? Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes some of you some of whom you will kill and crucify and some will flog you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town. So that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on Earth from the blood of the righteous able to the blood of Zechariah the son of berekiah whom you murdered between the sanctuary in the altar truly. I say to you all these things will come upon this generation. Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem the city that kills the van Stones those were sent to it. How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings? And you are not willing. See your house is Left To You desolate right tell you that you will not see me again until you say blessed. Is he who comes in the name of the Lord is your bow with me, please?
Father and have a nice and thank you for your word. I think you that even in this tough passage where Jesus has this proclaiming some definite hardships to come because of people's unfaithfulness and an unwillingness to love you. That we still have Redemption. I'm thankful that there is wait out of the Doom in the Gloom that we see here that Jesus is proclaiming to the Pharisees father. I pray that as we go into this that we study this you'd put me aside that you would speak your word. That you would teach us and you'd open our hearts and let us be convicted so that we can move forward. Why do we pray that I don't like the Pharisees? We truly do seek you first. They're not looking for the approval of man, and we're not looking for the approval of anyone else, but we're looking to please you and satisfy you. So Jesus name I pray.
Last week we look at Matthew chapter 22 me kind of looked specifically that greatest commandment love the Lord your God with all your heart mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself and Jesus at the end of that stuff to the Pharisees. He threw me through a stumper question and it shut them up like they didn't know what else to say. And do I loved it. The very last verse of chapter 22 says and no one was able to answer him a word not from that day. Did anyone dare ask him any more questions? They knew we're done. You got us we're going to we're going to bow out of this.
But he still had them there they haven't left yet. Please like Walt I've got this audience still here. I'm going to go ahead and continue teaching after this. So this is just exactly continuation of what happened in chapter 22. There's nothing there's no time really passed here. It's just continuing to move on and some verses 1 through 12 of this chunk. Jesus speaking directly to his disciples in the crowd crowd that had gathered up. And in his advice is pretty simple and direct. What these guys say to do?
But don't do what they do. I grew up. There were things my parents did that they knew were wrong. It was I say not as I do right now. That's hard. I get it when you got somebody in authority over you you kind of want to do what they wanted and all that but Jesus saying these these guys get the teaching listen to the teaching of the word of their teaching the word. But look at what their lives show. They're teaching the word emptily. There's there's nothing really there. Don't do that live the word fully do what they say to do in the word. But don't do what they do as a lifestyle. So you were mines. Those are listening to the Pharisees. They may love the law of the Lord but they've missed the whole point of the law that they have missed loving our neighbors as themselves. They miss loving. They have missed all of that and they use their knowledge of scripture for their own personal gain.
I may have no humility and what they do, they're not humble about anything and this is a caution to us. We can genuinely sincerely. Believe that we are doing God's work right that we're busy about the busyness of God we can do that. We can be genuine and sincere in that and we can genuinely believe that we are obeying God's word and we can genuinely believe that we're doing God's will And still yet missed the point altogether or we can we can we can miss that and when we miss that it condemns us to an eternity apart from God. We got to be cautious of that the Pharisees.
Had done just that the this is what they've done the right. They had it loved being busy for the sake of God or what it looks like with the Hidden Mist actually loving God. Hidden Mist doing what the word it said they were obedient, but they had no Spirit of love in that obedience. It was a checklist.
Give this I do this I do this I do this and I'm done kicked it all off. I'm good to go. That doesn't work on a check list that works on a relationship where there is love involved and the Pharisees had missed out on all of that that that the word of God and the law of God was two drawers to God not to just a checklist.
And we can fall into that same trap. This is a this is a false sense of Salvation and is a scary false sense of Salvation cuz you know all the right words, you know, all the right things to say, you know, all the right actions, but yet there's no genuine repentance necessarily in it. There's no relationship with God in this kind of sense of Salvation And this is the whole warning that Jesus is giving his disciples in the crowd that comes the heavy heart for him. As I read this there's there's some sad to see them. It's over Jerusalem the city that is the holy city of God later in the chapter. This is sad, this is not a Got your kind of moment is Jesus's preaching here? He's preaching passionately and he's using hard words because he's heartbroken for people who should have loved him and loved the father but missed it. He's heartbroken here. And that's why the passion is in what he saying? That the we've got to be doing watching for this. So these are the people who have been entrusted to teach the word of God the Pharisees had man and yet they had forgotten the whole underlying love necessary to truly know God. Mislead in turning this they've misled people away from God.
This is a direct extension of what Jesus taught in the chapter 22 right about loving the Lord with all your heart soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself and it's a warning to those of us. Included my hands up on that one that failed to do that. Write this is a warning to those who fail to see that part of what the law says.
Told to keep ourselves from falling victim to the same trap the Pharisees a phone into we need to seek. Earnestly. We need to seek God humbly and asking him to open our eyes when we may be spiritually blind and that stuff. Nobody. Nobody wants God pointing out. This is where you're wrong. This is where you're wrong. This is where you're wrong. Nobody likes to hear know. He likes to be pointed out their wrongdoings work doing look at all that we're doing right? Well, that's great. I can have a list of things a page-long of what I'm doing, right but my pages like my list of things that I'm doing wrong, maybe three pages long right until that that's not what it's about. It's not this weights and balances thing. It is about seeking God humbly to always know. What's right and how to get on that right track. We have to ask him to open our hearts to love him more we have to ask him to save us from ourselves by our own desires drive us to do things that are just going to drive us off a cliff. We have to ask him to do not do that. This passage should be something that we look at and say. What comet in in instead of saying look how much better off we were than those guys? That's what we do. A lot of times you look at scripture Academy's Pharisees miss this sitting around reading at discussing it everyday. How did they miss this? Idiots is kind of what we think when we read this, you know and end instead of reading it. That way we should be reading it and saying.
I need some personal confession time here. I need to get to have some deep questions before God. I need to ask God to turn my heart to my mind and my soul deeper towards him. I need to not look back and go look how much better off. They are rather. I need to say it. It should drive me into some deep personal confession some some turning of the Lord are turning to the Lord. I'm sorry. I'm really digging deep into my own self in this. That's what Jesus does it's the run through 1 through 12 in and he brings them around me than this a direct teaching to them. Right don't go around looking for the high fives and look in the marketplaces. Hey Rabbi teacher what's going on? You know that sort of thing is they're looking for that. They're looking for right Google. Hey, I made a metal wedding. I get to sit up with the the bride and the groom with the wedding and no I'm not part of the wedding party right that these are the sorts of things that were happening with the Pharisees and Jesus said don't go looking for that. That's a mess. Stay out of it be humble be a servant love God love people here.
Returns than a verse 13 to actually preaching to the Pharisees. Any breaches seven different woes to the Pharisees now. There's a lot of neat stuff about 7 7 is a kind of number of perfection in the Bible. Anyway, and in Jesus give seven was her seven things that you guys are done. This is this is a complete kind of lists here that Jesus is giving Anniversary beginning a verse 13 he begins with the seven was an inverse 13. The first one was shutting the door of the Kingdom in on people's faces and a slamming the door in somebody's face. idea Converse 15 I'm trying to call it and trapping conversions are in trapping converts right now. It's weird to think that I'm going to put these two together, but they can't go hand-in-hand here as we look at what's really happening that I'm limping these two woes together because they are keeping people from True salvation right that they're not allowing folks to really know the freedom that is in God your salvation through Jesus Christ in the first while there's a false gospel being taught that lets people away from the truth of Christ gospel. alright, so
that's what's happening there and verse 13 and inverse 15 is it we seek converts to the gospel who then being burdened with all these extra biblical traditions and expectations and both the falsehood. Both lie people from a true experience with Christ a true salvation. What we see with these two woes is the scribes and the Pharisees are leading people astray not who's the scary thing the scribes and the Pharisees are super sincere in their beliefs. They they think they're in the right they believe what they believe and they believe it strongly. They're sincere. They're genuine. Danvers 13 potential followers of the Gospel or LED astray because they have not been given the full picture of the Gospel message.
They didn't get it all if you do these lists write this why can't attain that I can't I can't manage that checklist while in Paris. Get me saved wrong. I have that works. I'll never make the check list. I'll never do it. So I got to have the grace of God to get me salvation the receipt in verse 15.
Is that even though there are people who are seeking earnestly seeking to convert people. They're going out there doing mission trips are going out there. They're grabbing people are converting him over the end up making them virtual Disciples of themselves rather than true Disciples of Jesus. Who? All right. No person who ever steps in the Pulpit of God's church should ever be looking to make a disciple for themself. Give me the on that church. We should always be looking to make people a disciple of Jesus Christ. Nothing else.
The Pharisees were making virtual Disciples of themselves right wheel, right? He was a Pharisee that I was a Pharisee under Oh. Even to the apostles this is happening. number for Paul's conversion See all of this is because they didn't that the the Pharisees did not have. a true
Understanding of Jesus as Messiah we saw that right in chapter 22, and he said, who do you who do you say the Christ is the son of David? Oh, you're looking for an Earthly savior? This is a spiritual Kingdom. This is a kingdom of God. That's bigger than Oliver. This is a kingdom of God that is going to restore this sinful Fallen Earth. This is a kingdom of God that's going to tear everything apart and build a new like you've never seen. Toby awesome when it happens
verse 16 we get the third well. And it's this 100 of binding Oaths. Antenna verse 23. There's this woe of missing the way dienes of the law.
These two go well together because they're both about seeing and knowing scripture but missing its full truth.
There are folks that we have discussions with that. They know the word but they don't they know the letter of the word but they don't know the spirit behind the word and that's what was happening with the Pharisees describes the first they knew the word they knew literally every jot and Tittle especially the scribes write that was their job. I sit in a room all day long with a candle or a lamp above me taking old Scrolls and writing new Scrolls. I literally know every. Every Point everything in the scripture.
But I'm missing the spirit of it. I'm missing out the truth behind it. To the third will we see people being caught up in biblical minutiae by all the tiny little details all the little what about this? What about that rather than seeing the big picture the story of redemption and salvation and that's scary.
He would argue the little things rather than know that Jesus Christ. Come came to love us and to save us tomorrow and sin. I miss that Jesus was referring to the rules place on people here rather than the salvation by grace and that that's important for us to that. We see this as rules rather than salvation and Grace.
There is nothing that's going to save us following rules. It's only through the grace of Christ that we can have salvation before four points out that their pride and the Traditions rather than the true costly. Love of people. man
the love of traditions
Should I wear steel toe boots for this one? Because we fall into that. We love things the way they were we love tradition. We love how things used to be. We have this I can refer to it. Sometimes as a is an amnesiac Nostalgia. We think we know what it used to be like but it probably wasn't that way right we we forget but then we kind of had to and that's what was happening here with the Pharisees. They were trying to restore things back to the old ways. Jesus was like but you're you're missing what that really was you're missing out what it was really like for those men of God in the old you're not doing they were declared righteous because of their love for God because of anything they did. And they're missing that.
So we can do all the right things, but we can miss doing the right thing for the right Godly reasons and that's what was happening with the Pharisees. They were doing all the right things but not for the right Godly reason we can do all the right things look good in the eyes of man rather than to be seen as seeking Holiness and righteousness before a hole in just got That's important. We got to watch for that in our lives. The fifth Woe Is is about is dirty cup and plate.
This one this one is interesting to me. We don't have a dishwasher in our house. But we do it's it's me on one night and lie on the other and it's so we can wash our all our dishes and so I'm the one Jesus described so she's like you watch the outside but you don't do anything with the inside, I'm thinking about them like the outside of my my coffee cup in the morning doesn't get really that dirty. The inside is got all sorts of interesting and you know, but that's what he's describing here. This is idea of being clean on the outside, but filthy on the inside. Amana verses 27 and 28. He talks about these whitewashed tombs. I love to use the term whitewash.
Whitewash isn't even good paint. It's watered down.
Like it's not even good paint and I can put in a good coat of paint on it man. It's it's see-through bra whitewash. If your white washing my I think it's like the old Tom Sawyer Huck Finn story, right Tom commence is everybody in the neighborhood to whitewash. I can't remember the name of the aunt that you live with her fence. If your whitewashing something you can actually see the grain of the wood behind it. It doesn't really cover it up. That's what whitewashing is. It's that thin doubt that this was a thinly veiled attempt to look good and Jesus is even calling him out on that. Right? But both of these woes are about the hypocrisy in our lives.
We can put up a good front. We can look good in front of everybody but deep down we're as rotten as anything. Do I hate red apples? Those are red delicious apples you guys when I'm talking when you get a real good or it looks really good. You bite into it because it's brown and weird Envoy through on the inside. That's how Jesus is kinda describing that the Pharisees here. They're there that deceiving they look shiny and pretty and need to get into it and it's just Brown and gross. So throughout the gospel of Matthew the scribes and Pharisees or are often shown observing the principles and practices of the scripture throughout. But they're neglecting Humanity in the Purity within themselves that is necessary to really love God.
Jesus brings us name back here in verses 25 through 28 on the appearance of outward cleanliness rather than striving for an inward Holiness within ourselves. And that's huge are Purity begins in our heart. And then it works its way outward. There's not any Purity in our heart no matter what we doing the outside and still no good.
a fervent and sincere practice of religion hear this a fervent and sincere practice of religion can be a very subtle yet dangerous cover up. four-person spiritual deadness inside The Pharisees had exactly that they were fervent. They were sincere they were dead. Church
careful be careful not to be dead inside this way. It's not bad to do things. Jesus has never condemning The Works the Pharisees are doing Priest pointing out where it fails because of the lack of love in their life the lack of the love of the Lord with all their heart their soul in their mind. He's he's pointing that out to them that they don't look at just having. Alone and him being sufficient for their needs. They want the Applause of man. They want the accolades of others. They want to look good in front of they want to save face. But in Saving Face, they're losing their soul.
Be mindful of that church. mindful of that
the seventh and last whoa here
verse 29
This is big. Jesus tells the Pharisees that they are murderers of the prophets of old.
In this world, he proclaims them as the sons of the murderers or the sons of the ones whose murder the prophets about he is equating them with those who wished those who proclaim the word of God dead.
Any does just because the Pharisees felt that they were above that kind of nonsense, right? They said that they bragged about being better than those people.
Or days it if this is Monday. 4 days the Pharisees are going to have Christ murdered. But they were above that nonsense. They knew better. They had read the world. They knew better insights 20/20. No. Church, we do this we read the scriptures when we see things like when Jesus says, oh you foolish disciples. We would have known better. We just seen that, right not any more than they did and they were spending a lot more time with him than we are. We're honest.
We've got to be cautious that we don't fall into the Trap. So we already see set. The scripture is full of these these ways that we can look at it we go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we have the word now. They had have the Old Testament these Pharisees had the Old Testament. They knew it. The Messiah was prophesied throughout the Old Testament and they missed who Jesus was church. Don't miss who Jesus is don't Anna versus 37 and 39 Jesus then laments what is coming for Jerusalem he Mourns but the religious leaders have become he cries for the people of God who have rejected salvation and face imminent condemnation.
We need to be cautious here in our own lives. This is this is a passage. That is I read threaded. This is a time for us to do some some deep introspection. Some deep looking in our own life some deep questioning of where we are. This is not for us to look at go those dumb Pharisees. Not at all. This is where we need to take some time just to ask. How do I not be like the Pharisees? What's in my life keeping me a mess. Where am I putting on airs? Where am I doing? These things? Where am I straining to get rid of a gnat while swallowing a camel? Struggling to get rid of somebody else's little thing. Oh, I got this huge thing. That's keeping me from knowing Christ the way I've been called to know Christ.
So we need to realize that all of us have it in us to be a scriber, Pharisee.
All of us have that Ennis just a matter of do we let it out or we get rid of it. Do we seek the Holy Spirit to to dig it and cut it out of us when we when we realize that the all of us have this potential to be a scriber Pharisee in our lives. We need to be mindful it and in think and ask yourself some questions. Look at what those questions our first question. Is this do I fail to practice what I preach?
As a first one who do the Pharisees writer the first thing that he said to the to the crowds in the apostles do what they say. Love the word of God. Don't do it the way they do it.
Am I failing the practice? What I preach who is a church bell to practice what we preach do we as individuals failed practice what we preach?
The next one is due. We humbly serve others are we hypocritically centered on ourselves? To the Pharisees didn't necessarily serve anybody.
Right that they were. Oh, did I jump some? I jumped about half of them. Sorry go back by mistake. Next one should be are we not content with the approval of God, or do we truly desire the approval man?
Everybody likes a pat on the back, right? An atta-boy feels pretty good sometimes. Better for doing things to seek an atta-boy to seek that pat on the back if we're doing things for us to look good inside of others and we're failed already that are called to serve God and our call to who we are but it's about God if we have God's approval. It's okay. It doesn't matter what men say to us about it. The next one is is do we assert our superiority over others? All right.
Do we carry an air about us that says I'm better than everybody else. The Pharisees and scribes did they talked about their phylacteries? And they're their fringes for fun words is actually a piece of scripture that they would tape in some regards to their body whether they would wear on their foreheads are on their wrists. It would have these these scriptures than the sabacc from Deuteronomy. They would have these scriptures connected to them and the and the Pharisees make sure that there's were bigger than everybody else's right. So they would have the biggest box of the word on their forehead. They could carry around I guess without their next pop and down all the time about being a bobblehead. I don't know they would have these huge. Huge things on there. I think of the wrist watches now that are in fashion that look like you're wearing a dial clock that should hang on your wall is a wristwatch-like. So they're there for like trees on their wrist would be that size and the fringes Fridays are supposed to be in reminders of prayer. And so they would have these things hanging off the sleeves of their robes are almost but not quite touch the ground cuz I touch the ground and they'd be unclean and Unholy and it had to verify that whole thing, but they wanted to make sure they had this show about look how holy I am.
superiority over others
Do we do that our attitudes and our actions and our conversations, do we do that? Then the next one is the one accident on jump to humbly serve others are we hypocritically set it on ourselves. In all of our in all of our actions with other people are interacting with Believers in Christ Oliver interacting with those who are lost. Is it about serving humbly? What is it about? Why can I get out of it? The first season describes are always a little bit looking for what they could get out of it. Human nature says what can I get out of it? What's in this for me?
We need to turn away from Human Nature to God's nature. Seeking out his will is good? the next one this one hurts Are we hearing people salvation?
Are the things that we say when we're outside of these four walls keeping people from loving Jesus?
Are the tweets Instagram posts Facebook posts?
Doing more harm than good.
AR our conversations we have lost people leaving them to the lord for keeping them in arms distance.
Are C's hindered people salvation? But first while you're keeping people from knowing and loving God.
Are we in the same boat? Are we doing that? the next one Are we more concerned with Biblical minutiae and practical Ministry? This is your deep questions. I have to ask. Are are we worried about dressing up to see the King on a Sunday morning. Are we worried about? Jots and tittles are we worried about this that or the other thing or are we worried about serving people where they are loving them to Jesus Christ and presenting a true gospel message. You should be worried about that true gospel message. We are all of us in this room centers. None of us can do anything within our own power to not be a sinner. The Old Testament had a a a blood payment for our sin because we know that what we've learned is sin is death.
Right, that's what they pay with blood of animals to pay for a bit that blood wasn't enough in the streets of Jerusalem ran red the blood of sacrifices. It wasn't enough. Our sin was that great. And God said this is my plan. I'm a holding Triune God. I will come as God the son in human form live a perfect life so that I may be the perfect sacrifice for the people that I created to love them to show them what it is to surrender to me and it'll be my grace that saves My People by my death on a cross a horrible death. And I will resurrect. And that is the power over death in the world. That's the message. When we surrender to Jesus in that we know that he's that that's the message. We should be presenting our We Are we more concerned with practical Ministry? Umbilical minutiae getting to the heart of it teaching people those things we pride ourselves on following convenient laws, or we spend ourselves expressing costly. Love I missed one. I'm good at that today different justify sin. According to our Traditions are to be fleecing according to God's truth. Go back and look at that one. And justifying sin according to our Traditions, but if it didn't work, then you think it's going to work now.
Are we digging into the word and saying this is what the word says we're supposed to do. Are we saying what we've always done it this way? No reason to change if the word of God says change Church change.
We are supposed to stink of Jesus. But if we keep our Traditions, all we do is stink of ourselves.
Need to stink like Jesus.
Do we pride ourselves on falling convenient laws or do we spend ourselves expressing costly love? I think of this one of my time just
am I doing a checklist? I had my hat my quiet time this morning rated breakfast. I prayed it lunch afraid it dinner. I read my kids out of the Proverbs today before they went to bed my check listing. All My Loving people for the sake of Christ
And then the last one are we focus on our cleanliness rather than inward holiness.
What if I told you that's not as concerned with your happiness as he is concerned with your holiness?
That's that question, right? Is it about me being happy or sad about me being wholly before my my God. Is it about me seeking my God to make me holey cuz I can't do it. Cannot do it.
Take some time. Think about these questions. They're they're in your in your notes today. Read through them ask yourself these things probe. Ask the Holy Spirit to Pride prick cut. Whatever is necessary.
And then ask how do I respond? Todd how do I respond?
It's going to sound complicated and look complicated, but it's not. We were spawned by submitting Our Lives of Jesus Christ the Messiah and the savior.
If he is truly Lord, we will submit everything to him and beg him in our hearts to plan out. Our failures are flaws and our sins. So that we may ask for forgiveness and repent and turn away from them and turn directly to him. That's a response.
Praise groups going to ever going to come up and we're going to take some time. We we we start calling this or call to action. It is what it is is it it's that that didn't part of any warship time.
There should be a time for you to respond to the word of God. Is it is it is James hits of the we're not just hearers, but we're doors of the word. And if we want to be doers of the word and so we take this time in our worship on this is still an active part of worship that that we have these parts of worship. We worship through the singing praises and singing vac tributes to our God. We worship through the hearing in the present presentation of the word of God and then we worship through the response to that. That's what this time is. It's our worship through response. My prayer every time I enter this is God convict me of something. I need to fix for your sake. The God allow your Holy Spirit to exit in me cuz I can't do it. I'm asking you to pray the same today. Look over those questions. How do we respond? Father as we enter into our time or we are responding to your word. We pray Lord that you would move in our hearts. He would convicted us. challenges I was looking deeply in our own lives and ask for forgiveness where we fail you.
