The Power Of Words

1 Kings 3:1–3 LEB
Solomon intermarried with Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and he took the daughter of Pharaoh and brought her to the city of David until he finished building his house, the house of Yahweh, and the walls of Jerusalem all around. But the people were sacrificing on the high places, for the house for the name of Yahweh had not yet been built in those days. Solomon loved Yahweh, by walking in the statutes of David his father; only he was sacrificing and offering incense on the high places.
1 Kings 19:1–3 LEB
Then Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “Thus may the gods do to me, and may they add to it, surely at this time tomorrow I will make your life as the life of one of them!” Then he became afraid, got up, and fled for his life. He came to Beersheba which belongs to Judah, and he left his servant there.
1 kings 3.1-
Words of death sent this mighty man of God almost to suicide.
Words are powerful, one minute he is killing the enemy next minute he is running away for the enemy.
Exodus 2:11–14 LEB
And then in those days when Moses had grown up, he went out to his brothers, and he saw their forced labor, and he saw an Egyptian man striking a Hebrew man, one of his brothers. And he turned here and there, and he saw no one, and he struck the Egyptian, and he hid him in the sand. And he went out on the second day, and there were two Hebrew men fighting, and he said to the guilty one, “Why do you strike your neighbor?” And he said, “Who appointed you as a commander and a judge over us? Are you intending to kill me like you killed the Egyptian?” And Moses was afraid, and he said, “Surely the matter has become known.”
With one word Moses became a alien in a foreign land.
Proverbs 18:21 LEB
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love her will eat of her fruit.

Matthew 12:36 LEB
But I tell you that every worthless word that they speak, people will give an account for it on the day of judgment!
Matthew 12:26 LEB
And if Satan expels Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Men’s words do not have the final say in your life.
Peoples hearts are so fragile.
1 Corinthians 15:33 LEB
Do not be deceived! “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
1 cot 15.33
Words are game changers.
Which words do we use?
2 Corinthians 5:10 LEB
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, in order that each one may receive back the things through the body according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Irresponsible words and a fragile heart can lead to destruction.
We are going to be accountable for every word uttered, so lets start sowing words to build up.
Surround/you yourself with people who declare life over you.
Surround/you with people who can change your life by their words.
2 Corinthians 5:12 LEB
We are not commending ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to boast about us, in order that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart.
Lets be men of action and character.
We must God pleasers not man pleasers.
Lets learn to encourage instead of words of death but words of life.
1 Timothy 6:12 LEB
Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
When we are in sin or error, we can sometimes not receive words from our brother or sister thinking these are negative words when in reality they are words of life.
Proverbs 27:6 LEB
The wounds of a friend mean well, but the kisses of an enemy are profane.
prov
Be careful with the heart.
Jeremiah 17:9 LEB
The heart is deceitful more than anything else, and it is disastrous. Who can understand it?
1 Corinthians 11:28 LEB
But let a person examine himself, and in this way let him eat from the bread and let him drink from the cup.
So please lets begin if we are not doing it already to live a life of encouragement versus words of death.
Galatians 6:7–8 LEB
Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked, for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap, because the one who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
