Setting the Table
Apostles Teaching
Far from just being the apostles speaking, the early church was devoted to what they taught.
The early church was devoted to the teaching that Jesus was the Messiah.
This is important to realize because we aren’t just talking abut the apostles preaching to people but the fact that this group of Jews believed that Jesus was the Messiah.
The apostles teaching would have had the truth of who Jesus is, stories about his life and the miracles he preformed, and most importantly his death and resurection, which we will be remembering today.
The Fellowship
FELLOWSHIP (Gk.
koinōnía).
The communion or common faith, experiences, and expressions shared by the family of believers, as well as the intimate relationship they have with God.
Doing Life together is important.

Breaking Bread
A shared meal.
Looking at the first three statements there is an intersting thing happening grammatically.
Teaching, fellowshiping and breaking bread are all a part of the felloship that the belivers had.
Breaking bread would be a meal, and at each meal they would remember who Jesus was.
Breaking bread togehter is a chance to remember what Jesus did, to give thanks for his death and ressureciton.
Prayer
Whenever Christ Followers met they prayed.
But when?
Our faith is supposed to inform out daily life.
Meet together in the temple (yeah you should come to church)
Eat together ( because a shared meal breaks down walls)
Be humble and Happy with what you have
Praise God
It’s interesting to me that when we do those things we gain favor with people.. all people…when the church focuses on what it’s called to do, rather than on what it wants to do…good things happen and the Lord will add to the church..
This Week’s Challenge
Sit down and look what you do with your time, and what you are doing with your talent.
Look at what you are willing to give.
Look at what you are willing to give and decide, if it’s enough.
