The Effects of Justification
The Effects of Justification
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;
Justification - declaring a person righteous/just. It’s a legal term signifying acquittal. God brings a new covenant relationship with himself through the forgiveness of sins.
Faith - substance of things hoped, evidence of things not seen. Reliance on, loyalty to and trust in God.
We were the enemies of God of our disobedience and rebellious acts towards him.
And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
Four things you get from Justification:
1.) PEACE WITH GOD
But we now have PEACE with God.
In the hands of the enemy, false peace is a predator, looking to consume the complacent
So we can conclude that there is NO peace apart from Jesus
Satisfaction is subtracted from the soul without THE SAVIOR!!
2.) ACCESS TO GRACE
v.2 ACCESS can also be translated as introduction. Access should not give the impression that we come in our own strength. We need an introducer. The stress on the word should and does point to Christ. His blood announces us.
MY JACKET ANNOUNCES THAT IM CLOTHED
THIS GRACE - we stand , rejoice in hope...
3.) HOPE OF GOD’S GLORY
GLORY (manifested presence/Jesus)
4.) GLORY IN TRIBULATIONS
Problems open possibilities
tribulation produces perseverance (stamina) , perseverance produces character (being approved based on a trial) , character produces hope
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
He wanted me when I was weak!!
He died for the disgraceful.
v.7 UNCOMMON LOVE:
JESUS’ death reveals love beyond human reason
For a righteous man one will die ---- reveals the endless depth of the love Jesus showed us!!
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
I dare you to DEMONSTRATE!!!
Manifest what you mention!!!!!
Towards is a directional word. What direction were you in? PAIN!!
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—(For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.
rom5.12
Adam (no law), Moses (law), Jesus (grace)
Adam and Jesus
And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.
rom5
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
Jesus was the LAST ADAM
Jesus embodied that sin nature to kill it!!!
Jesus comes out of the tomb/womb as the head of the church. the head in a healthy birth always comes out first, THEN THE BODY!!!!!
I’M COMING OUT!!!!!
READ V.17-19
ROM
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
The law exposed the depth of sin in man
The law is a black light, showing the hidden stains that are everywhere
The law isn’t bad, it’s just not strong enough to save. That not why it was created.
Jesus fulfills the law to become the light
CHAPTER 6
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
You need to DIE!!!
You need to DIE!!!
Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
rom5.12
When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break. Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
rom6.
Grace doesn’t leave us alive to sin!
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
rom6.15
You can’t continue in your own will when you are a slave!
