11 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.
-
20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
-
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
What we need to understand is that it is never God’s will that someone sin. God can accomplish his will in any circumstance, but the one who chooses to sin will always suffer.
Samson
20 And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And he awoke from his sleep and said, “I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.
Judas
3 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.” 5 And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself.
3 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.”
Paul
37 This proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?” 39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.” 41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
2 They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. 3 And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me.
1 And looking intently at the council, Paul said, “Brothers, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day.”
21 But do not be persuaded by them, for more than forty of their men are lying in ambush for him, who have bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they have killed him. And now they are ready, waiting for your consent.”
9 “I myself was convinced that I ought to do many things in opposing the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
Acts 26:9
16 For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”
Samson- God worked through the circumstance but Samson lost everything, including the Lord in his life.
Judas- God used the betrayal of Jesus but Judas was overwhelmed by grief and took his own life
Paul- Thought he was doing right, but was doing wrong, As a result he lived the rest of his life in suffering.
God is able to work regardless of circumstances, but it is NEVER His desire for someone to sin.
