Terms of Engagement

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

How do things get worked out in your life?

Submission to the ‘powers’ and their outward regulations is essentially dehumanizing; mind and heart need not be in gear with what the body is required to do. God’s purpose in Christ, as we saw in chapter 1, is to produce truly human beings, who find in the service of God a new integration of thought and action. The primacy, in Christian behaviour, of the attitude of the mind is of course no excuse for barren intellectualism; many Christians, however, make that danger an excuse for not giving the mind the place God intended it to have. Someone who truly understands who he or she is in Christ is further along the road to genuine holiness than someone who, in confusion, anxiously imagines that the new life is the result, rather than the starting-point, of the daily battle with temptation.

The wars and rumors of war

the corruption from the White House to Hollywood to the Street

based on pride, power, greed, and selflessness

Corruption breeds corruption - - it will never be make things right

The world is moving further away from God. Further away from the truth. They are on a long journey on the road to destruction.

There is only one way out - - - Jesus Christ

there is no other system that is setup to escape the corruption of his world

in order to escape, you must possess something more than what you have

something that goes beyond you

r education, personal values, or man made wisdoms and philosophies

but given we are the most educated society in history, why are we now so corrupt

Paul writes concerning this corruption - - -that looks to nurture you and then turn you out

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

6. There is a dominating power that corrupts and forces you into conformity that making you think you are an open thinker, that equality is accepting anything that someone says and if not, you become a bigot of sorts

As you seek, set your affections

Center your life around Jesus

You decisively fix your mind and heart around those things that are from above.

knowing that life in this world will be better if it is lived by the power that is beyond this world.

and you may not be glorified yet, but you are kept and made alive in Jesus
