I shall recover it all!
One of my favorite Gospel artist Hezekiah Walker release a song close to 11 years ago.
Faithful is our God!
This song was an instant hit and many choirs and praise teams across the country started singing it.
It is a song with hope and promise.
The lyrics are

Yes, I rejoice today, for I shall recover it all We are familiar with this chapter because many focus on verse 6 when we read David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
Yet its verse 8 that arrest my attention today 8 And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop?
shall I overtake them?
And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
Isnt it wonderful to know that what ever you lost by the enemies hands the Lord tells you that you will recover it all!
The Amalekites had come into David’s camp while David and the men of battle were away and burned the camp and took their wives and children.
They were left with complete desolation!
The enemy has a way of coming in destroying all we have and taking what is most special to us!
This situation had turned their joy into despair!
After a 3 day journey home they returned to find all was definitely not well.
Amalekites had defied the word of the Lord and taken people captives unlawfully.
This was a capital offense.
For the 16 “Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death.
Yet I learned the enemy is not concerned with God’s law.
He is driven by his own ego.
The enemy is not concerned with loving your neighbor as yourself.
He is only interested in destroying you!
Ruining you!
When David and his men returned from a victory they found the enemy had come ad taken their families.
This put them in a situation they thought they had left behind.
See these who had join David joined him looking for relief from despair.
The word said they were bitter in soul.
Its in Chapter 22:2 we learn these who had joined with David came from bad situations 2 And everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was bitter in soul, gathered to him.
And he became commander over them.
And there were with him about four hundred men.
This is a lesson in leadership.
People will attached themselves to you but they have issues.
Your goal is to them from their despair to hope.
Yet be cautious because sometimes in leading them to hope you will come against the enemy who will attempt to take hope off the table.
These who had joined David was hoping he would be the next King.
They had attached themselves to the promise but an unexpected event happened.
The enemy came.
What did this group do?
They blamed David.
The bitterness soon turned to raging anger and found a focus in David, whom “the men were talking of stoning.”
David “was greatly distressed” by all of this, as any leader would have been when faced with a tragedy that was in part of his own making.
When they saw their city burned the word said they wept until they could not weep anymore.
They cry so hard no more tears came out.
After they wept they looked to blame and the likely target was David.
Forget that his two wives were taken also.
Forget they fact that David had suffered lost also.
Someone had to take the blame for this and guess who it was?

The leads me to to my first point: We must first learn how to Revive!
Revival is like a restart!
Its like a renewal!
Getting your strength back.
Your revival will never come to you by yourself.
You must learn to encourage yourself or strengthen yourself in the Lord your God.
We have the greatest resource ever.
We have the strength of the Lord.
It is so refreshing to know that we can rest in the strength and comfort that God will provide when facing troubles of many kinds.
Have we trial and temptation?
Is there trouble anywhere.
Jesus knows our every weakness take it to the Lord in Prayer.
Let Him have the glory and show himself strong.
The Bible says in For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
God wants to show Himself strong on your behalf.
Surrender to Him and let the peace that He gives you take over.
We cannot fully serve God without full surrender to his Strength.
The Philippian Writer said I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.
The psalmist said in The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.
David understood something the enemy didn’t know.
David had a personal relationship with Lord.
Things did not look right.
It was a bad situation.
David sought the Lord.
He just recalled what the Lord said concerning Him He said I will never leave you or forsake you.
reminds us The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God.
Whenever you are in a period of reversal.
You must first look to be revived!
In your reviving you have to reboot, renew, refresh, restart but you cant do anything without the Lord.
He is your source of strength.
David did not leave the Lord out of the equation.
