We’re Going On A Field Trip!

Working on this sermon this week has been an experience for me. Trying to figure where to take you on this field trip.
Many places came to mind, but I thought we needed to visit the two place where people are and will be spending their eternity.
This morning we are going to take a field trip with our minds to Heaven and then Hell. I’m going to be your tour guild, so please give me your attention. Set back in your pew, open your mind as we explore the mysteries of Heaven and Hell together.

I. First Stop: Destination Hell.

Notice the location of Hell!
Numbers 16:32 KJV 1900
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
Numbers 16:
Hell is located somewhere beneath the earth’s crust.
I also want you to notice that there are no immigration laws in Hell
They accept everyone
Notice the Nature and Characteristics of Hell
Hell is a Place of Everlasting Fire
Matthew 18:8 KJV 1900
8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
Matthew 3:12 KJV 1900
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
Matthew
Hell is a Place of Everlasting Damnation
Mark 3:29 KJV 1900
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
Mark
Hell is a Place of Unquenchable Fire
Matthew 3:12 KJV 1900
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
Matthew 3:
Hell is a Place of Memory and Remorse
Luke 16:19–31 KJV 1900
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Luke 16:19
Hell is a Place of Misery and Pain
Revelation 14:10–11 KJV 1900
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Revelation 14:
Hell is a Place of Frustration and Anger
Matthew 13:42 KJV 1900
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 13:
Hell is a Place originally prepared for Satan and his Hosts
Revelation 2:11 KJV 1900
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Matthew 25:41 KJV 1900
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Matthew 25:
Notice what Hell is like.
Matthew 11:20–24 KJV 1900
20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: 21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you. 23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
Luke 12:47–48 KJV 1900
47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Matthew 11:
Luke 12:47–48 KJV 1900
47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Luke 12:47-
Luke 12:47-
Darkness
Luke 20:45–47 KJV 1900
45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples, 46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; 47 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
Luke 20:45-
Fire
John 19:10–11 KJV 1900
10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? 11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

4. The Occupants of Hell
Deniers of the Deity of Christ are there
John 8:24 KJV 1900
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
John 8:24
If you want to end up here!
Keep denying Jesus Christ.
If your saved you owe the lost two things.
The Gospel
A Warning
You can be off on a lot of doctrine, but you can’t be off on this one.
It takes Jesus Christ to get a person to Heaven.
Truster’s in Human Works
Matthew 7:21–23 KJV 1900
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mark 7:21–23 KJV 1900
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Matthew 7:
If you are trusting in Human Works to get you to Heaven, your not saved.
Mark 7:
Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV 1900
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph
Revelers without Conviction or Chastisement
You say, “What are you talking about preacher, what’s a Reveler?”
Reveler is someone who takes joy in what they are doing.
People who say as long as you believe in Jesus Christ, It doesn’t matter how you live.
That’s old Heresy.
Any gospel that won’t change you is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
If you expect to go to Heaven with your faith without change.
I got news for you, your not going to Heaven.
2 Corinthians
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 1900
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
A Saved person is not perfect.
A Saved person will sin.
A saved person is a Hater of Sin.
John 8:47 KJV 1900
47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
Romans 7:13 KJV 1900
13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
A saved person Loves the Church
There maybe a few things you get by with, but your not going to be able to get by this.
Psalm 122:1 KJV 1900
1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
God’s Chastisement
Psalms 122
If you sin and your saved God will Chastise you.
In other words punish you for your wrong doing.
If you continue to live in sin, and not convicted or know that God is punishing you, then you might not be saved.
You say, “Where’s that in the Bible?”
Hebrews 12:5–6 KJV 1900
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Hebrews 12:5 KJV 1900
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Hebrews 12:5–8 KJV 1900
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
