WHAT IS OUR OWN VINEYARDS?

OUR OWN FAMILY & FRIENDS!!

We don’t want to be getting other families & friends saved & leave ours NOT ENJOYING & EXPERIENCING the promises of GOD — AND we don’t want them to lose their souls to Hell’s Fires!

Acts 10:1-5 (GW) A man named Cornelius lived in the city of Caesarea. He was a Roman army officer in the Italian Regiment. He and everyone in his home were devout and respected God. Cornelius gave many gifts to poor Jewish people and always prayed to God. One day, about three in the afternoon, he had a vision. He clearly saw an angel from God come to him and say, “Cornelius!” He stared at the angel and was terrified. Cornelius asked the angel, “What do you want, sir?” The angel answered him, “God is aware of your prayers and your gifts to the poor, and he has remembered you. Send messengers now to the city of Joppa, and summon a man whose name is Simon Peter.

Acts 11:13-14 (NASB77) Send to Joppa, and have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here; and he shall speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’

It’s Time to begin aggressively "Reaching Out" with all our effort to get our Families & Friends saved -- telling them about Jesus Christ so we can take them to Heaven with us -- TIME IS SHORT!

2 CORINTHIANS 6:2 GW God says, “At the right time I heard you. On the day of salvation I helped you.” Listen, now is God’s acceptable time! Now is the day of salvation!

CORNELIUS - here is a good man but NOT a saved man - God was so impressed with this man HE didn’t want him to miss out on the greatest gift ever - SALVATION!

SEE - GOOD MEN GO TO HELL TOO! ONLY - saved men - Men who know Jesus Christ make it to Heaven for Eternity!

YOU KNOW THIS MAN SOUNDED GOOD ....

He was a devout man - but still lost without Jesus

He feared God - but still lost without Jesus

He gave great offerings - but still lost without Jesus

He saw a vision but still lost without Jesus

SEE -- there are alot of Really Good Religious People -- giving offerings, praying, fearing God, doing good things, living devout lives - AND YET - Without Accepting Jesus Christ As Their Savior - THEY ARE LOST!

Cornelius Was ALL these things and Lost Without Jesus Christ!

Jesus said it this way;

Many shall say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, haven’t we done many wonderful things in your name? He’ll say, Depart from me, I know you not, you workers of iniquity.

LISTEN TO ME -- IF you are a worker of iniquity - that is - someone without Jesus or someone who is choosing to live in sin and live like the culture around us that dictates how we should live and all that -- YOU WILL END UP LIKE THE WORLD -- IN HELL & IT’S NO PARTY!!!

I Mean -- You’ve Got To Have A Changed Life To Go To Heaven!

LISTEN TO WHAT GOD SAID ....

Acts 11:13-14 (GW) Send messengers to Joppa, and summon a man whose name is Simon Peter. He will give you a message that will save you and everyone in your home.’

SEE -- That’s why you’re commanded to go to people & tell them about Jesus!

NOW -- God had to really work on Peter in order to get him over his own religious and racial prejudice - God said something really powerful;

God said what I cleanse, don’t you call common."

And Peter went and preached to them.

There are just 10 verses in that sermon -- they tell us everything we need to know ....

[1] GOD IS NOT PARTIAL

Acts 10:34 (ASV) And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

God is NO respecter of Persons -- God doesn’t play favorites ....

He loves the prostitute - He loves the drunkard - He loves the drug addict - He loves the gang member who shot someone

GOD LOVES EVERYONE THE SAME WAY - HE SHOWS NO PARTIALITY WHEN IT COMES TO LOVING US - WE ALL GET THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE CHRIST AS OUR SAVIOR!

That means those family members & friends that YOU think they could NEVER get saved cause of what they’ve done!

ILLUSTRATION

When I worked for Teen Challenge – we had a coffee house in the Ghetto of Louisville, Ky – I had the rare opportunity to learn this first hand that GOD has no favorites when it comes to salvation – “Whosoever Will” is God’s Attitude – I got to lead several Gang Leaders to Christ while there.

Acts 10:35 (ASV) but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him.

Doesn’t matter race - culture - where they’re from - what false religion they came out of (Buddhism, Hinduism, Mormonism, Islam) - God will accept them when they accept Jesus Christ as Savior!

[3] GOD WANTS US TO PREACH PEACE

Acts 10:36-37 (ASV) The word which he sent unto the children of Israel, preaching good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all.) -- that saying ye yourselves know, which was published throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

ONLY ONE WAY TO PEACE ....

PEACE WITH GOD

PEACE WITHIN YOURSELF

PEACE WITH ALL MEN

THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!

You can’t buy peace - you can’t sniff enough dope to get peace -- you can’t medicate yourself enough to find peace .... JESUS CHRIST IS YOUR ONLY WAY TO FINDING THE PEACE YOU REALLY WANT IN LIFE!

[4] GOD HAS ANOINTED US THRU CHRIST’S POWER

Acts 10:38 (ASV) even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

YOU’VE got to tell people that God sent HIS only SON into the world - born of a virgin & Jesus lived His life doing good, demonstrating goodness and the mercy of God -- He went into every village & city healing sickness & disease

· He stood by a harlot & lifted her up and she began following and helping His ministry

· He encouraged the woman who had been married 5 times - got her saved and got her on the roads to evangelism

· He reached up to Zaccheus who didn’t feel worthy to even get in His presence and went to his house

You’ve got to "Reach Out To People" so they can know that GOD IS A GOOD GOD & that He has sent His Son Jesus Christ JUST FOR THEM to take off what the Devil has put on them!

First Thing You Ought To Do When You Reach Out For Your Family & Friends Is Bind The Power Of The Devil Over Them In The Name Of Jesus Christ!

[5] WE ARE GOD’S WITNESS

Acts 10:39 (ASV) And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom also they slew, hanging him on a tree.

What Is Our Witness - Jesus Died For Our Sin By Being Crucified In Our Place!

Romans 6:6-11 (GW) We know that the person we used to be was crucified with him to put an end to sin in our bodies. Because of this we are no longer slaves to sin. The person who has died has been freed from sin. If we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, who was brought back to life, will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once and for all to sin’s power. But now he lives, and he lives for God. So consider yourselves dead to sin’s power but living for God in the power Christ Jesus gives you.

We Make Witness Of What Jesus Christ Did When He Died On The Cross In Our Place By "HOW WE NOW LIVE FOR HIM"!

Your Mouth & Your Life Must Tell Them "Jesus Christ Came To Pay The Price For Them!”

[6] GOD RAISED CHRIST

Acts 10:40-41 (ASV) Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest, not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, even to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

On that 3rd Day - God came down by a mighty angel and rolled that stone away - NOT to let Jesus out BUT so they could get in & see that Jesus Christ already got out -- OF DEATH’S GRIP!

We’ve got to tell people that Jesus died for them & that He now Lives for them – He’s not dead - HE IS ALIVE FOREVERMORE!

Romans 6:10-13 (GW) But now he lives, and he lives for God. So consider yourselves dead to sin’s power but living for God in the power Christ Jesus gives you. Therefore, never let sin rule your physical body so that you obey its desires. Never offer any part of your body to sin’s power. No part of your body should ever be used to do any ungodly thing. Instead, offer yourselves to God as people who have come back from death and are now alive. Offer all the parts of your body to God. Use them to do everything that God approves of.

[7] GOD COMMANDED US

Acts 10:42 (NIV) He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.

JESUS COMMANDED US TO DO SOMETHING!

TELL EVERYONE THE GOOD NEWS - WE DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT TO KEEP IT TO OURSELVES!

It Is Our Responsibility -

God Makes It Our Responsibility -

God Is Holding Everyone Of Us Responsible For Telling Our "Family & Friends" About Jesus Christ ....

Inviting them to receive Jesus Christ As Lord

Bringing them to church to learn & receive more about Jesus

LISTEN ....

Philippians 2:10-11 (NASB77) that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

GOD has ordained that Jesus will judge the living and dead - Every man, woman & child will stand before Jesus one day ....

With every beat of your heart & every tick of the clock -- YOU ARE getting closer to the time that YOU WILL stand before Jesus

BELIEVE ME -- YOU want to be standing there SAVED & YOU will want your family & friends standing before HIM SAVED!

AND HERE IS THE PROMISE GOD GAVE TO CORNELIUS ...

Acts 11:13-14 (NASB77) ‘Send to Joppa, and have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here; and he shall speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’

THIS IS THE PROMISE OF GOD FOR ALL OF US TODAY — GOD WANTS ALL OF OUR FAMILY & FRIENDS SAVED!!
