In 2 Corinthians 3 we considered the increasing glory of God in the new covenant. And in chapter 4, we will consider the bright light of the gospel of Jesus. But these are not two different things. They are one and the same. God’s glory is revealed in the light of the gospel. Jesus Christ is the image of God and the display of his glory. And it’s this glory and light that defines our ministry in this world. We are to be bearers and reflectors and shiners of Jesus. We carry the light in our hearts and channel God’s glory to others. We shine it by God’s mercy; freely, clearly, plainly, simply; to everyone, whether they see it or not. This is our ministry and this is our confidence.
