Our vision as Emunah Student Ministry leaders :
To challenge where we encounter ESM students and point them to a real and powerful God by understanding Jesus as our savior, God as our Father/creator, and the Holy Spirit as our concealer/interpreter.
The three goals that WE WILL BE DOING as ESM students
To Challenge where we encounter ESM students and point them to a real and powerful God understanding Jesus as our savoir, God as our Father/creator, and the Holy Spirit as our concealer/interpreter
Bring a Friend to Church
Bring a Friend to Church
we are to try our best to bring someone with us to church every time we come to church.
what does a typical attempt to invite a friend look like for us?
Our definition of a friend is such a loose term now-a-days that the meaning has become lost witch in term as changed how we approach a friend when it comes to inviting them to church. Kind of like the word love, we use the term so much now its lost it meaning.
Did you know that the word friend or friendship is not found in the original bible.
The word friend/friendship in the Bible was described in two Hebrew words. The first meaning associate or companion and the second meaning object of one’s affection or devotion. So the way the Bible describes friendship is “ an associate or companion that you display affection or devotion to.”
Best example of this is David and Jonathan
1 Now when he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. 2 Saul took him that day, and would not let him go home to his father’s house anymore. 3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. 4 And Jonathan took off the robe that was on him and gave it to David, with his armor, even to his sword and his bow and his belt.

so the question you need to be asking yourself is, ‘ what am i willing to do for a family member {yourself, boyfriend, girlfriend} that you would not be willing to do for a friend, because the bible says to be that kind of friend’
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
John 15:
We have the answer to sin and death, Jesus! Get them here, don’t just stop at asking offer a ride, ask them the next week, invite them to camp. Do what you ALL that you can, God will do the rest.
I want ESM to be a group of kids that say ‘ i will bring a friend to church’
Giving/Heart of Generosity
Giving/Heart of Generosity
we are to try our best to give to the vision of God. If that is our time, service, and or money we strive to Give to God and what He is doing
we give to the things most important to us, it automatic/natural, does not need to be taught
buying stuff for dungeons and dragons/video games/my wife's ring
Mark 12:
38 Then He said to them in His teaching, “Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, 39 the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, 40 who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
41 Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. 42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. 43 So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”
-
Jesus celebrates the widow women for giving the most, why?
It wasn’t the amount she gave that Jesus wanted to point out, but the heart behind the gift. In giving to God sacrificially she completely entrusted herself to Him to provide her needs.
I can tell by how you give who you trust the most
I want ESM to say ‘here God us it’
We Walk by Faith
We Walk by Faith
we are not students that have to see it to believe it
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Paul wrote this will in prison!
2 corithians 5:7
Paul was writing to the church in Corinth in jail but he say in Faith and not what was surrounding him
What sustained Paul was the realization that this was a temporary and transitory state () .He focused not on present but on future conditions, not on the seen but the unseen. To live this way is to live by faith, not by sight. It is to live in light of ultimate rather than immediate realities

Emphasize the importance of bringing a friend to church
Simultaneously giving to the vision God has set before us
Moving continuously forward by FAITH and not sight!
