Year later, believed a few weird things: God speaks through a prophetess, future, no health care

How do you read the Word?

World lens -

introspect, whatever you want?

Isegesis, alternative agenda

Biblical lens - the actual truth of what happened, relevant meaning, immediate use

All Christians have different gifts, but same call to be in the Word!

Split up in groups, time to look at a text, study together, absorb its meaning

GROUP ICEBREAKER: Introduce yourself, and answer the following questions: Before you start your career, do you think you’ll do an internship? What’s the point of it?

Read . Then answer these questions as a group

Observations

Who, what, when, where, why, how? What is happening in the text? What is the context, what happens afterwards? What questions arise from reading the text?

Interpretation

What do you think this text mean? What did the original audience think about this? What does it mean to be “strengthened by grace”? What does “what you have heard from me” allude to? What does “entrust” mean? Who is qualified under “who will be able to teach others also”?

Application

How does this apply to you? How can you be strengthened? What do you entrust to faithful believers, and how? Are you currently entrusted? What opportunities are open for you to be entrusted?

How was this? Was it very different than how you typically read the Bible?
