He also introduces guests to the House of Representatives, including the President.

Practiced it repeatedly, in his car, his office, his home. Wrote it down and carried it with him.

John “The Baptist”

His purpose was to introduce Jesus to people and then step aside.
John
John 1:35–51 NASB95
35 Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 and he looked at Jesus as He walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” 37 The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38 And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What do you seek?” They said to Him, “Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?” 39 He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they came and saw where He was staying; and they stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. 40 One of the two who heard John speak and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ). 42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter). 43 The next day He purposed to go into Galilee, and He found Philip. And Jesus said to him, “Follow Me.” 44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46 Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel.” 50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see the heavens opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

Lamb of God

John 1:29 NASB95
29 The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

John 1:27 NASB95
27It is He who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.”

You have disciples

If you are a follower of Christ and you don’t seclude yourself in a Christian bubble, you have disciples.
They watch how you handle situations. When the waves of this world come crashing down on your life, they watch how you handle it.
Philippians 4:13 NASB95
13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Philippin
John is standing with two of his disciples, The two disciples heard him speak and they followed Jesus.

Andrew told his brother

John 1:40
John 1:40–41 NASB95
40 One of the two who heard John speak and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ).
Who are the people most important to you?
As we allow Christ to fill our life, and we start to see more of Him and less of us, the group of people we love expands.
Andrew didn’t try and convince Simon that he was telling the truth, but he brought Simon to Jesus
Harmony of the Gospels
Matthew and Mark both say that Jesus approached Andrew and Simon together and said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”
Lukes account has Jesus getting in the boat with Simon
“Master”
Tells us that the introduction in John was probably before the accounts of the other gospels.
Jesus renamed Simon
We are not told why, but it ads a layer of intimacy.

Nathanael

John 1:47 NASB95
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!”
Yesterday I went up to a group of guys and introduced my self and one of them said, I know you Todd.
“Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
Jesus knows you.
John 1:51 NASB95
51 And He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see the heavens opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
John

Son of Man

Jesus favorite self designations.
Subtle.
Mark 10:45 NASB95
45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Daniel 7:13–14 NASB95
13 “I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. 14 “And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.
Jesus knows you, He sees you, despite this He loves you and wants to save you.
