Romans 9:1-33

The Blessing of Israel (vs 1-5)

Paul makes an oath and Jesus said an oath is not to be taken lightly.

When He says I tell the truth, I am not lying, that is a Jewish literary form to indicate emphasis.

Then Paul says that he is in sorrow. (vs 2)

Why?

Because he wishes that he can be accursed and cut off for the sake of Israel.
