Also as Paul said in verses 9-13 it’s not our place to judge/condemn the world but we are to hold each other in the assembly accountable.

“If a Christian loves his church family, he will not stand by and permit sin to weaken it and perhaps ruin its testimony.”

We are interacting with ppl living in active sin while rejecting the gospel in order to reveal the gospel so God will transform their hearts.

Their sin done while rejecting does not affect our witness, our association is not in unity.

Contamination happens when we associate with ppl professing belief in Christ while living in opposition to Him.

We are seen by the world to be in unity with them, and sharing the same beliefs and practices.

We should seek to see them restored per God’s instructions that we referred to earlier but if they reject that restoration and prompting of the Holy Spirit stronger action is required, and still the goal is that God would use that strong rejection to restore them.

When we are obedient the gospel is victorious!

God also uses our obedience through actions of love for Him to do His work in us and those around us.

Our gathering and obedience as an individual and as a family/community has eternal importance.

We are building God’s kingdom, pushing back the gates of hell, and helping one another to have victory in each others lives!
