Would you rather be with someone who is thankful or critical?

Simple question with profound ramifications for life.

The Bible is realistic.

It would have been easy for the final chapter of Nehemiah to not be written.

Nehemiah leads the people in worship.

This was one of his last facts.
John 4:24 NIV
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Worship is about God!

Throughout all of Nehemiah 12.27-47 we read about who God is and why he is to be worshipped.

Worship is about being thankful and joyful.

We can use Scripture in worship singing.

This is part of the reason for the book of Psalms.

Worship can have variety of expressions.

Nehemiah 12 records multitudes of people involved in worship with a variety of instruments. The key was participation of people and engagement, not in structure or form.

Worship reminds us we are not done changing.

Worship is an act of sacrifice.

Romans 12:1–2 NIV
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
