Jesus, Immanuel, God With Us, is with us today in our own temptations sympathize with us, help us, pray for us, inspire us, and cause us to endure Satan just as he did.
Jesus, who was sent to deliver his people from their sins (1:21) has come face to face with the tempter himself and has overcome. He certainly is able to help whose who are being tempted.
Satan’s temptations often seem reasonable, maybe even right. He is still a shrewd serpent who attempts to slither in unnoticed. Jesus responds, however, with an overarching principle of Scripture: do not put God to the test.
Where are we left but to cling to Christ? To fellowship with him, and ask him to minister to us as well.
