11. Now while he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astonished, ran together to them at the portico called Solomon’s
12. And when Peter saw this, he answered the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this, or why do you look intently at us, as if by our own power or piety we have caused this man to walk?
13. The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob—the God of your fathers—glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
14. But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and you asked for a murdered to be graciously given to you,
15. and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead, of whom we are witnesses.
16. And on the basis of faith in his name, this man whom you see and know, his name made him strong, and the faith that is through him gave this man this wholeness in the presence of all of you.
17. And now, brothers, I know that you acted according to ignorance just like your rulers.
18. But in this way, God fulfilled that which he announced beforehand through the mouth of all of the prophets—that his Christ would suffer.
19. Therefore, repent and turn around, that your sins may be wiped away,
20. so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord and he may send the One appointed for you, Christ Jesus,
21. whom, indeed, it is necessary for heaven to receive until the time of the restoration of all things, about which God spoke through the mouths of the holy ones, his prophets, ages ago.
22. Moses said, ‘For the Lord your God will raise up a prophet for you like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him according to all that he says to you.
23. And it will be that every soul that does not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from the people.’
24. And all the prophets who spoke, from Samuel and the ones who followed him, also proclaimed these days.
25. You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God decreed to your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘and in your seed, all the peoples of the earth will be blessed.’
26. God, having raised up his servant, send him to you first to bless you by turning every one of you away from your wickedness.”

22. Now Paul, standing in the middle of the Areopagus, said, “Men of Athens, I see that you are religious in every way.
23. For as I was passing through and carefully observing your objects of worship, I found and altar on which was inscribed, ‘to the unknown god.’ Therefore, that which you worship being unknown, this I proclaim to you.
24. The God who made the world and all that is in it—him being Lord of heaven and earth—does not dwell in a temple made with human hands,
25. nor is he served by human hands, needing anything, since he gives to all life and breath and everything.
26. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to dwell on all the face of the earth, having appointed determined times and the boundaries of their dwelling place,
27. that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for him and find him, and yet he is not far away from each one of us.
28. For, ‘in him we live and move and exist,’ as also some of your own poets have said, ‘for we are indeed his offspring.’
29. Therefore, being the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, a thing form by the skill and thought of man.
30. Therefore God, having overlooked the times of ignorance, now commands men, all, everywhere, to repent,
31. because he set a day in which he is about to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness, by a man whom he appointed, having provided proof to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

27. Only conduct yourselves as citizens worthy of the gospel of Christ, that whether I come and see you, or remain absent, I may concerning you that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving together with one soul for the faith, which is the gospel,
28. and that you are not being frightened in any way by the ones who oppose you, which is to them a sign of destruction, but of your deliverance—and this is from God.
29. For to you it has be graciously given on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on behalf of him,
30. having the same struggle that you saw in me and now hear to be in me.

5. Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6. Be anxious for nothing, but in all things, by prayer and by petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
7. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if anything is excellent and if anything is praiseworthy, think about these things.
9. That which you have learned and received and heard and saw in me, practice these things; and the God of peace will be with you.

1. Therefore let us be afraid, lest, while the promise to enter into his rest remains, some of you may seem to fall short of it.
2. For, good news was proclaimed to us just as it was also proclaimed to them; but the word of proclamation did not benefit them because they had not been united by faith with the ones who listened.
3. For we who believe are entering the rest, just as he has said: “as I swore in my wrath: ‘they shall certainly not enter into my rest,’” although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4. For somewhere he spoke in this manner concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all of his works,”
5. and in this place again: “They shall certainly not enter into my rest!”
6. Since then it remains for some to enter into it, and the ones to whom good news was proclaimed previously did not enter on account of disobedience,

Hebrews 10:19–25 ESV
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
19. Having then, brothers, confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,
20. by the new and living way that he opened to us through the curtain—that is, his flesh,
21. and having a great priest over the house of God,
22. let us draw near with true hearts in full assurance of faith, our hearts having been sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies having been washed by clean water.
23. Let us hold fast to the confession of hope without wavering, for the one who promised is faithful,
24. and let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
25. not forsaking the assembling of ourselves, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and so much more as you see the day drawing near.

3. For, consider him who endured hostility toward himself by sinners, that you might not be weary in your souls, giving up.
words
4. You have not yet resisted to the point of blood while struggling against sin.
5. and you have forgotten the exhortation, which was instructed to you as sons: “My son, do not think lightly of the discipline of the Lord, nor be made to give up by him when he reproves;
6. For the Lord disciplines the one whom he loves, and punishes every son whom he receives.”
7. You endure for discipline; God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
8. If you are without discipline, of which all have been participants, then you are illegitimate, and you are not sons.
9. Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh, ones who discipline, and we respected them; shall me not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits and live?
10. For they disciplined for a few days according that which seemed good to them, but he disciplines us for our benefit, so that we might share in his holiness.
11. Now, all discipline does not seem joyous for the present, but grievous, but afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to the ones who have been trained by it.
