I hope that we accomplish a number of things with our time together — the first wold just be fellowship. I am grateful for this family of churches and other pastors and I pray that this would be a fruitful time of fellowship. Secondly — I pray that it is a time of relaxation — I hope that you are not here thinking about all of the other things that you should be doing — that is usually my experience at things like this — But I pray that this would just be an opportunity to just relax — use this as a get away — and we have built in time for for that. Third — I really want this to be a time of renewal — so we want to take some time to pour into your soul and then closely related to that we want you to leave encouraged.
I just wanted to start and share with you the story from the book of Romans — at Bethel — it is starting to be a little joke — we have been moving through Romans at a snails pace — but I keep reminding people that there are a lot of others who have spent more time going through the book when we are. As we were starting our journey through the book we and got to verses 16 and 17 in the first chapter — we noted that really the entire book would be unpacking the content in those two verses — and specifically verse 17.
