1 Word - Worldview
Q: What is a worldview? The beliefs that i build my life upon...
At the most elementry level, there is only really 2 worldviews...
Those built on truth- Pilate- What is Truth?
God the Father is “the God of truth”
God the Father is “the God of truth” (Ps. 31:5 ; Isa. 65:16 ).
Jesus Christ is “full of grace and truth”
In fact, He is “the truth” (14:6).
The Holy Spirit is “the Spirit of truth”
Paul calls Scripture “the word of truth”
Jesus prayed, “Your word is truth”
Everything about God is true. God always tells it like it is.
“Nothing is deemed more precious by God than truth. No one can be saved without the truth. Nor can anyone be sanctified or strengthened without it.”
Those built on Lies-
Feelings
Thoughts
Opinions
Deception
Truth is this: Truth is truth, regardless of what we feel, think, or say.
I’m not the author of what is true, therefore What i have no authority to declare something untrue.
The Reality is this:

Truth is Narrow

Matthew 7:13–14 NKJV
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Truth is Foundational

Matthew 7:24–27 NKJV
24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
What I want to accomplish today is to point out a few faulty worldviews people live by
Answer these 2 Questions:
Why does it matter what I believe?
How do I strengthen my Worldview?
Think about this - Your worldview affects how you view....
God, Yourself, Relationships, Life, Death, Past, Present, Future, Happiness,
Pain, Suffering, how you spend your time, Money, success, Salvation
Big Idea - How We Perceive Truth affects everything about our lives...
Illustration - Imagine going through life looking through the wrong set of lenses. Switch some Glasses
The awesome thing about your Worldview is this, nobody can force you to believe anything. We have all been given the ability to reason and use logic.
Real Quick, Share with you Some worldviews that are plaguing our society

Materialism - Only thing in life that matters is the acquisition of things.

Luke 12:15 NKJV
15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

Individualism- I’ve got to think about of me first.

Society Screams this....
Burger King - Have it your way
Sprite - Obey Your Thirst
This is why we see so many… walking out on marriages, not fulfilling commitments.
Walking out on marriage
Your not meeting my needs, I will look elsewhere
Produces Consumerist Mindset
Matthew 16:25 NKJV
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Hedonism- Do whatever feels good.

If it feels good, do it
If it feels bad, don’t do it
The problem is this, our feelings are terrible guides and will always lead us to do whatever is best and easiest for ourselves.
Proverbs 21:17 NKJV
17 He who loves pleasure will be a poor man; He who loves wine and oil will not be rich.

Relativism- Whatever works for you, works for you & whatever works for me, works for me.

This is what has our society in the mess that it is in...
No Absolute truth… Truth is relative and based is situational...
People are embracing what is evil and championing it & Shunning what is true and seeking to silence it.
Age of Tolerance and Political correctness...
Now More than ever does the body of Christ need to stand in unison and in Love and say No!! That is wrong...
Proverbs 14:12 NKJV
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

Atheism - God does not exist

Psalm 14:1 NKJV
1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
Psalm 19:1–4 NKJV
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. 2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,
Proverbs 14:1 NKJV
1 The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.
We are the culmination of chance and life has whatever meaning we want it to have.
No Accountability

Agnosticism - God is out there somewhere, we just cannot know Him.

Our God is a relational God - He went to great lengths to have relationship with us.
Getting Ready to Celebrate Easter - We can celbrate an empty tomb because we have a crucified savior.

Theism - I was created by God for His purposes.

New Age Movement - Spiritual Awakening
Tarot Cards, Fortunes,
Same lie that Satan tempted Adam and Eve with in the Garden...
Colossians 1:16 NKJV
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
Colossians 1 NKJV
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, 2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; 5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, 6 which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth; 7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, 8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit. 9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister. 24 I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, 26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
Eat this and you will become like God.
Why does it matter what I believe?
My Beliefs Dictate my Destiny
My Beliefs Dictate my Direction
My Beliefs Dictate my Duty

My Beliefs Dictate my Destiny

Whether we like it our not, there is a place called hell and it is the eternal destination for all unbelievers.
Romans 1:25 NKJV

John 14:6 NKJV
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus is not a way, he is the only way...

How we view the world we live in will determine how we live in the world.

2 Corinthians 5:9–11 NKJV
9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.
