Christ is the basis of how we take up our cross DAILY

Notes
Transcript
The command to daily lift up your cross and suffer for Christ’s sake comes directly after the teaching of the foundation of the Church
Christ lifted up his own cross for the church so that we in the church could lift our cross through the power of the church
Christ is the great example of love and suffering
The continuous work of washing and sanctifying is down through the church and for the church
So that we may be holy, set apart for the daily work of Christ

Our Work is Built on Who Christ Is (18-20)

Before teaching the hard truth of the cross, Jesus asked the simple question of who he is
He is greater than all the prophets- He brought life to us ( quickened together with Christ)

Our Work is Built on What Christ Did (21-22)

Our power to stand for Christ comes from the accomplished work of the cross
His death, burial and ressurection brings power into our life (Romans 5:1-5)

Our Work is Built on How Christ Taught (23-27)

Christ taught that we must not be ashamed of him but rather ashamed of the world
With this daily cross comes the promises of God’s blessings and goodness
