Countdown To Calvary – 6 Thursday – Less Than 24 Hours Till The Cross At My Wit’s End Think about a time when you desperately needed help but were too confused, hard-headed or embarrassed to ask for it. It’s crunch time. The cross is less than 24 hours away. The Romans are nervous. The Jewish leaders are angry. The 12 are all of that... and more. Jesus, however, is resolute. Let’s travel back in time to experience the words and actions of Jesus. Had you been one of the 12, what would you have thought and felt? At this moment in time, what is most difficult for you to connect with? What is John trying to help us understand with these introductory words?_______ _________________________________________________________________ John 13:1 It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. 13:4b Jesus took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
