MESSAGE TITLE: DON’T CELEBRATE TOO EARLY
INTRODUCTION
PRAYER
AREA 1
- All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
- Sin separates us from a relationship with God
- For the wages of sin is death
OUR VIEW OF JUDGMENT DAY
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - THE UNBELIEVER
The unbeliever – White Throne Judgment
Unless your name is in the lambs book of life you will not enter heaven
THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN IS THROUGH JESUS
Colossians 2:13–14 NKJV
13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

We have reason to celebrate!  But that’s not the full story!
THE REWARD – INSTANT WINNERS / HEAVEN
OUR PICTURE OF HEAVEN
NEW EARTH
Revelation 21:1–4 NIV
1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
(NIV) – Words of John
Words of John
We have reason to celebrate!  But that’s not the full story!
We have reason to celebrate!  But that’s not the full story!
WHAT IS HEAVEN REALLY LIKE?
No death, no suffering. No funeral homes...
REAL PLACE ...best of the best of our current earth, the bits without sin.
NEW BODIES
We have reason to celebrate!  But that’s not the full story!
Revelation 21:4–6 NIV
4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
(NIV)
NO CURSE
LORD’S PRAYER WILL COME TO PASS
We have reason to celebrate!  But that’s not the full story!
DIFFERENT JUDGMENT FOR CHRISTIANS – BEMA JUDGMENT
2 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
(MEV)

What Paul is talking about here in 2 Corinthians is very different.
ACCOUNT FOR WHAT WE HAVE DONE
But we are going to give an account of what we have done for God while here on earth.
Don’t celebrate too early because God has more for you – he wants to reward you even more for what you do for him
WHAT YOU DO FOR JESUS NOW MATTERS
AREA 2
The Promise of Crown (5 of them)
The Promise of Heavenly Treasure
The Promise of Accolades or Commendations
The Promise to the Overcomer
The Clothing of the Saints (the Glorified Believers)
Don’t celebrate too early because God there is more coming – he wants to reward you even more
PAUL SAYS WE SHOULD DESIRE THE REWARDS
1 Corinthians 9:24–27 NASB95
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 25 Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; 27 but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
(NASB)
Paul is saying run in such a way to get the prize - Be motivated to get the prize - We are supposed to be motivated by the promise of rewards.
STANDING BEFORE JESUS
God will not forget one thing that you have done for him
He remembers everything
