In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

1. If God can make everything out of nothing, he can preserve a book

God Exists

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

A. God exists because He is eternal

1. “In the beginning...” - the very start

2. God already existed

3. Who created God? No one.

a. This is very hard to understand, but if we could understand it then God would not be God

B. There is only one God

1. God made heaven and earth

2. There is no atheism

3. God is the Creator and not the created

C. God is a trinity

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

1. God existing as three in one is a hard truth

2. Father, Son and Holy Spirit

3. Father is not the Son, Son is not the Holy Spirit, etc.

God Creates

A. Everything we have, God made

Day 1: Night, light and day

Day 2: Sky

Day 3: Land and sea

Day 4: Stars, sun and moon

Day 5: Fish and birds

Day 6: Land animals and man

Day 7: Rest

B. Why did God take 6 days to create?

1. God always has a purpose

C.What does this have to do with us?

1. If God made everything, then He made you

“Who made your parents?”

2. Why do we listen to our parents? (Or, why should we?)

a. They gave us life

b. They took care of us

c. Gave us money

3. God is higher than our parents

a. We may think our parents gave us life, but God did

4. So then, what relationship do you have with Him?

a. Do you believe He exists?

What if you didn’t believe your parents existed?

What if you took care of other people’s parents but not your own?

b. Have you thanked Him?

D. We know we have a bad relationship with Him

1. We have sinned

a. Sin is anything wrong we have done or thought

b. It is also anything right we should have done

c. His law requires that we die: not physical but spiritual

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2. God loved us

a. God wants us to have the right kind of relationship

b. He sent His son to die for us

John 3:16 KJV 1900

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
