I. Prayer:
I. Prayer:
Prayer is your most valuable tool use to invite a person(s) to your church.
Why?
To give you prospects to invite to church.
To give you confidence.
To help control fear meeting new people.
To open opportunities when needed.
To give you openings to witness.
To give you the words to speak.
II. The purpose of the church and why I should attend.
II. The purpose of the church and why I should attend.
This is a question that will be brought up when inviting someone to church.
What’s the purpose of me going to church, if I already believe in God?
Im going to use scripture often in this study:
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1 Peter
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
To worship God:
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Revelation
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
StudyHis Word.
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.
2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
To Pray.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
Acts 2:
2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
:
Galatians 6:
Partaking of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.
Which are the Ordinances of the New Testament Church.
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Luke 22:
To learn to live like godly people.
Titus
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
To be equipped to evangelize the world.
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Ephesians
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:18-

III. The purpose of inviting someone to church.
III. The purpose of inviting someone to church.
Why do we invite people to church, what is our purpose?
First let me giving you reasons church members don’t invite people to church.
I just don’t think about it.
I’m afraid I’ll be rejected.
The music isn’t that good.
The preaching isn’t that strong.
We’ve got too many problems right now.
Our church is already too crowded.
Nobody ever challened me to invite anyone.
I don’t know how to start the conversation.
It’s the preacher’s job-not mine-to bring people to church.
It’s too far for people to come.
Bonus, YOUR JUST TO LAZY!
This is the cold Christian.
Let me give you the reasons why church members should invite people to church.
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28
It is commanded of us to invite people to church and witness to them.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28
Church Growth.
You can’t have church growth without new members
Ever prospect you speak to is a POTENTIAL NEW CHURCH MEMBER.
Inviting someone else to church will usher you into spiritual adventure.
They are more likely to come if you will invite them.
It will challenge you to refresh your heart, your knowledge and your living.
It will give the people you invite the opportunity to make a more informed decision about Jesus, the church, and eternity.
It will make you see your church in a whole new light, and you can share what you observe.
It glorifies God.
This is the Hot Christian.
IV. Being sold on what your doing.
IV. Being sold on what your doing.
The most important thing about inviting people to church is you have to be SOLD on what your doing.
I want to use an illustration of a car salesman.
You are in a market for a new car. You see a car you like at a dealership, and a salesman comes out and introduces himself to you. The car salesmen job is to sell you this car. A good salesmen is sold on his product (Ford, Chrysler, Chevrolet, etc.)
The car salesmen job is to sell you this car. A good salesmen is sold on his product (Ford, Chrysler, Chevrolet, etc.)
He knows the in and outs of that car, MPG, brake system, rim size, the whole package to make so, excited that them want to buy that car. This is what we are trying to do when we invite people to our church. We want to make them so, excited they will want to come and visit.
want to buy that car. This is what we are trying to do when we invite people to our church
You have to be sold on it your self.
You have to be sold on every aspect of your church to get other to want to visit.
You have to be sold on Jesus.
You have to know Him as your personal savior.
You are not sold if you don’t.
You have to be sold on your church.
If you don’t like you church, and you don’t attend regularly your not sold.
You have to be sold on your pastor.
If you don’t trust or like the way your pastor preaches your not sold.
You have to be sold on your fellow church members
If you don’t trust, dislike, or avoid your fellow church members your not sold.
How can you invited someone to your church and get them excited to come if your not sold on it yourself?
The answer is you can.
You must be sold yourself.
V. Five things you love about your church.
V. Five things you love about your church.
It is very important that you can give at least five things you love about your church more is better.
You can’t be sold on your church without knowing why you attend and what drew you to the church.
You will be asked this question when you invited someone to church.

VI. Definitions.
VI. Definitions.
I’m giving you some definition that you need to learn, because it will apply later in this study.
The Gospel: is the death, burial, and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace: is the unmerited favor of God’s goodness towards those who have no claim on, nor reason to expect, divine favor.
Grace comes to us in the form of a gift.
God’s Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
Faith: The substance of the things hope for, the evidence of things not seen.
An example of faith is found in the book of John 20:24-29
24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
John
Redemption: The action of saving or being saved from sin.
Repent: Feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s sin(s) or wrongdoing, and turns away from it.
Salvation: Preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, loss, or HELL.
Born again: Born from above, a spiritual transformation.
An example of this is found in the book of
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Eternal Security: Once saved always saved, You can never lose your salvation;
Scriptures to back this up:
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
John 10:
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 6:
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
2 Corinthians
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesian
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 1:6
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1 John 5:
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:3

Prospect: A person regarded as likely to be a potential customer, client, or church member.

The Roman’s Road to salvation: A method used in witnessing to show someone how to get saved.
Scriptures use in the Roman’s Road Method.
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Roman
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans 5:
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The goal is to memorize these verses.
If you can not memorize these verse mark them in your Bible
They are very useful in witnessing and you will have to use them one day.
