THE KING WHO BRINGS PEACE
At this time it is easy to jump through Palm Sunday as the pre-game show to Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.
Sure we enjoy the palm leaves and sing songs with Hosanna in it, but what was this, if we’re being totally honesy, “bizarre” event really about?
Why get a donkey if you walked all this time?
Why ride the donkey?
Why go into the city and draw attention when the elites were all in town?
Why did people waves branches and shout Hosanna?
Why did he soon after go to the temple and start going ballistic on all the vendors?
All of these questions outline the main events surrounding Palm Sunday.
What is so easy to miss is that Jesus is not shying away from being KING.
(Remember less than a week later, it was this same idea that the Romans picked up on and nailed it as a sign above His cross)
