Introduction
Today we will look at the vision of the Golden Lampstand...
When you think of lamp stands, we know that in the first chapter of the book of Revelation, we see that there is a mention to lampstands, and the lampstands speak to the 7 churches of Asia Minor…
So here we find the Old Testament mentioning what is called a golden lampstand...
Ultimately we know that this all points to Christ.
So lets look at the text and find out what God is doing here in the book of Zechariah

So the angel has come to him again, not that he really ever left him,, but like a person starring, he is pulled back...
;
And the first question we see is the one from the angel, he asks Zechariah what he saw…
And Zechariah communicates what he sees to the angel, And he saw a golden candlestick.

Ultimately it will represent the church, where in Christ is the Lord of all the churches.
The fact of it being all gold, refers to it being pure in doctrine and practice, it was the truest idea of God workings and the future church were in Christ is the head of the church.
The bowls on top is where the oil was in supply, the bowls will be a future look to Christ, and he has the head of the lamps, the church.

These two trees supply oil to the bowls that are on the right and left.
The picture is of unlimited oil supply for the candlestick.
If the candlesticks represent the church, then the church is powered in a unlimited way by the Holy Spirit.
Zechariah asks the angel what is all this that is being seen...
The angel then returns with a question of his own, “ do you not know what these are?” Zechariah has no idea as to the meaning of anything he has seen so far???
The angel begins to speak to Zechariah…
The purpose of all that he has seen is to encourage Zerubbabel to complete the rebuilding of the temple.
Also to ensure him that the Lord would empower him to do accomplish all that he has set before him...
The Spirit of the living God would ensure this task…
