The Transformation of the Heart

John 19:31–37 KJV 1900
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Many people look and hear things, but don't understand the value of what they see or hear.
We have a view in the Bible that many people in the body of Christ overlook, but the revelation of this is fascinating.
We see and focus on what John is telling us regarding the blood and water that flowed out of the side of Jesus. Why did John mention this and no other writer in the gospels mention this.
The solider come by the three bodies that had been hanging on the cross, to ensure that they were die or alive. If they are found alive, then were going to break their legs to ensure that death would come quickly.
But when they came to Jesus, he was die already and so the solider put a spear in His sided, and the bible specifically says in the King James version, “ spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water”. and “ They shall look on him whom they pierced.”
This is something that we must see. In order to see this, we must look from Jewish view.
So there are three things that we see in these few scriptures, that bring us to the conclusion that God want to provide to us something greater.
It is not just bring saved, but it is living in Sozo:
Defined in the Greek as: : 4982
Being saved from perishing
Being whole from sickness or disease.
Being saved from the penalties of the Messianic Judgement
Being restored or recover
Being whole in Mind
God want us to live in a new reality.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 1900
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthian 5:17
We are new being in Christ Jesus. The old way of life has passed away, you are now in the life of Christ Jesus.
These versions in identify to us three dimension of our reality in Christ.
(1) Fulfillment of Prophecy (2) Jesus as the New Adam (3) Jesus as the New Temple

It also tell us that God’s grace will be pour out upon us:
Zechariah 12:10 KJV 1900
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, The spirit of grace and of supplications: And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, And they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, And shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Because of Jesus being on that cross and blood and water is coming of Him for our sake - God’s mercy, and grace will be upon us. But in the hebrew it is described as a foundation of mercy and grace that comes there shall be a fountain open for the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to cleanse them from their sin and their uncleanness.
The prophet is describing is this mysterious figure of the the shepherd who is Pierce's which came in later times to be interpreted as an image of the Messiah the shepherd of the people the future king of Israel but what's interesting about Zachariah is when he says that about the piercing of this mysterious figure he also says something else he says this quote I will poor out on the House of David in the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of compassion and supplication so that when they look on him whom they have pierced they shall mourn for him as one mourns for an only child and weeps bitterly over him as one weeps over a 1st born son and then he goes on to say all on that day there shall be a fountain open for the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to cleanse them from their sin and their unclean
John sees the blood in the water coming from the side of Christ as the fountain that is going to wash away the sins of the people that's going to cleanse them from their sins .
But I also think it is an call to all of humanity, to be a bride, to be help mate, to came back to you maker to be who God purpose you to be
Which lead us to second point.
(2) Jesus as the New Adam
To understand that He is the New Adam the second Adam, we have to go back to Genesis and look at the first Adam.
He was made in the image and likeness of God -
Genesis 1:26 KJV 1900
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Psalm 8:4–9 ESV
what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

He was made to fellowship with God
Genesis 3:8 KJV 1900
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
He made man not to be alone
Genesis 2:18 KJV 1900
And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Genesis 2:20 KJV 1900
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
There was no body like Adam - he had no counterpart or help made like him. So God puts Adam to sleep.
-
Genesis 2:21–23 KJV 1900
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
The means you are part of me, you came from me, and therefore, we are joined as one. My parts and blood is running through your body.
So a woman comes from his side, that is like him.
She came from the side not the foot - So before the fall, she is made to stand side to side with him, with the understanding of her position. She will reign with him and rule with him. & 28
So God has a problem that He answer before the foundation of the World. He has made a man in His image and likeness. Someone that He can fellowship with.
Man sin’s - So God now has no fellowship with those that are made like Him. The Human race is lose and fellowship. And the only thing that is going to fix this - is restore man from his state of death. But to restore him, there has to be a life taken to restore life.
Life can only be take in blood form - For life is in the blood and blood is living and it has a voice.
Leviticus 17:14 KJV 1900
For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.
Deuteronomy 12:23 ESV
Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.
John 2:16 ESV
And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.”
D
John 3:16 KJV 1900
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
In order to restore man, in order to fellowship with His creation again. Man had to be born again. His character had to change, His attitude had to change, His outlook had to changed.
He can only changed if his DNA change or his blood changed.
God gave His son, who look around and there was nobody like Him, Everybody lived in darkness and He lived in light, Everybody live in chains and He live in freedom. But the only way man can an opportunity to born again, is that Christ the Second Adam had to be put to sleep. So Christ die and when to sleep and while He was sleep, the solider piece Him in the sided and out of His side came blood and water. The cleaning blood give life to that which is death, and forgive us of our sins. And the water represents baptism of water and the cleaning us with the Word. When the came blood upon my life - I received the DNA of God, it restore me
Christ sleeping we also are to understand his passion. As Eve came from the side of the sleeping atom so the church was born from the side of the suffering Christ that's a gust an exposition of the so knows what Augusta same just as the 1st woman the 1st bride Eve is creating from the flesh and blood from the side of the sleeping Adam so to Jesus as the new Adam falls into the sleep of death and from his side precede the blood and the water they give life to his bride the church right so the water meaning 24 to the waters of baptism by which his bride is watched and given new life and then the blood pointing forward to the blood of the you Chris which feeds his bride and gives her life and gives her communion with Him So Christ is not just the Messiah the purest Messiah He's also the sleeping atom he's the new Adam of the new creation
1 Corinthians 15:45 KJV 1900
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1 Co
1 Corinthians 15:22 KJV 1900
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1 cor
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 1900
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
(3) Jesus as the New Temple
so is most powerful for me is the image also of Christ as the new temple now this is a little harder to see unless you know ancient Jewish tradition because according to ancient Jewish rabbis in the traditions known as the mission there's a treatise on the mission that tells us that during the 1st century A.D. while the temple still stood the sacrifices were so great and so many in the temple like during
Passover where Josephus says that they would sacrifice 200,000 lambs in a single day that's a lot of blood the rabbis tell us that because of so many sacrifices there had to be a drain underneath the altar so that when the priest would pour out the blood on the altar of the blood of the Lamb on the altar in the Temple it would actually drain out under the altar and then come out the side of the Temple Mount for example the mission up
At the southwest corner of the altar there were 2 holes like to Merrill nostrils by which the blood that was poor over the western base and the southern base used to run down and mingle in the water channel and flow out into the brook key drone the key drone Valley was to the east of Jerusalem between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives and so what the mission is describing here is that if you are a Jew in the 1st century A.D. and you are approaching the temple mount at the time of Passover say when the sacrifices are being offered what would you see you would see a spring of blood and water flowing out of the side of the temple mount so when John sees the blood in the water flowing from the side of Christ he stops the Gospel and says he who saw it is borne witness his testimony is true and he tells you that you might believe in other words he's in emphasizing I would suggest because he recognizes a parallel between the body of Jesus and the and the temple between the sacrifice of Jesus and the sacrifices in the temple so just as the blood in the water of the Passover lambs would flow out of the side of the Temple Mount down from the altar so to now the blood in the water flows out of the side of Christ who is the true temple in person like he says in John Chapter
John 2:19 KJV 1900
Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
2 Destroy this temple and in 3 days I will raise it up but he was speaking about the temple of his body so Jesus' body is the new Temple and therefore it's fitting that the blood of water would flow out of the side of his body which as the Temple is nothing less than the dwelling place of God on earth that's what the Temple was the Jews the drawling place of God on Earth and the soul place of sacrifice.
John 7:38 ESV
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ”
So when you take that model you really Potter is powerful because if you think about it if Jesus is Adi is the temple and the side of his body from which the blood water flows point us to the side of the temple Now then where is the altar right or the altar then would be his Sacred Heart so just as the blood water flowed from the altar out of the side of the mountain so now the blood and water they give life to the church flows out of the very heart of Jesus which is in a sense the altar of the world right and just as Peter says love covers a multitude of sins so to the Infinite Love of God in Christ covers an infinite number of sins it's not just how much Jesus suffered that makes the cross redemptive ultimately primarily it's how much he loved right and so when John sees the pierced heart of Christ and the blood and water flowing out what he sees there is like a visible sign of the love of God for the whole world and of the love of Christ for His bride the church to whom he gives life through the blood of the Christ and the water of baptism and all in this meditation with a quote from Pope Benedict the 16th if you've never heard this before if it sounds new
I'm just repeating what many of the ancient Christians and doctors of the churches say put it wrote this on the pier side of Christ quote an exit his death on the cross is love in its most radical form I contemplating the pierced side of Christ we can understand the starting point of this in cyclical letter God is love 1st John chapter 4 verse 8 it is there that this truth can be contemplated it is from there that our definition of love must begin. And in the 16th God is love paragraph 12 was Pope Benedict saying there what he's saying is if you want to know what true love is just look at the pierced side of Jesus on the cross and there you will find the mystery of what it really means to say God is love.
