God’s word is our Final Authority
A debate exist today in Christianity on the exclusivity of God’s word in determining doctrine.
One of the arguments for amillennialism is how Reformation Fathers understood the end times.
A lot of reformed people will appeal to Church Fathers for validation of truth.
Catholics and Mormons have other sources included in their determination of truth.
Which Bible?
No two Bibles are the same (substantively).
Why do I accept the KJV as God’s word for English speaking people?
The Method of translation
The Manuscripts used.
The Men in the translation committee
Faith
Arguments used by advocates of other Bibles why we should not embrace the KJV as God’s word.
The KJV used younger manuscripts that have been corrupted with well meaning scribes.
There are many differences between the 1611 and 1769 editions of the KJV.
The KJV includes footnotes, just like other versions of the Bible.
The issue is not footnotes but creating doubt with footnotes.

Does this create doubt or authenticity?
John Macarthur preached through the NT in 40 years - one verse at a time. The last book he preached through was the Gospel according to Mark. His last sermon was . The theme of his message was why these 12 verses were not authentic to the Bible.
When did good meaning Christians question the validity of ? After the discovery of the manuscripts at Mount Sinaiticus and Vaticanus in the mid 19th century.

The danger is if Christianity universality accepted prior to the discovery of the two oldest manuscripts then we are opening ourselves up to seismic changes in the future if even older manuscripts are discovered omitting cardinal passages of the Bible.
This opens the door to the authenticity every verse being questioned and/or doubted.

A debate exist in our justice system on the exclusivity of using our constitution as the sole source of adjudicating cases. In 2005 Stephen Breyer wrote, The Court and the World: American Law and the New Global Realities. In his book, Justice Breyer that the U. S. Supreme Court cannot do its job without a careful understanding of foreign law and practice. He wants to incorporate multiple foreign documents, along with the U. S. Constitution in adjudicating cases.

A lot of reformed people will appeal to Church Fathers for validation of truth.
Catholics and Mormons have other sources included in their determination of truth.
The Holy Spirit and God’s word validate truth, not church fathers:
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Culture does not define God’s word. We cannot interpret the Bible through a 21st century lens.
God’s word is always true.
We will be judged by God’s word.
Our emotions, feelings or experiences have no weight.
God’s word is contrary to worldly thinking ().
Every truth we believe in must come from God’s word.
We cannot afford to mess this up.
Verses that support God’s word being the Final Authority:
