Have you ever had a situation in your life that you knew that you knew what you knew was right!

No other way about it! You knew without a shadow of doubt you were right!

You knew that you knew what you knew!

I had situation, when I was younger, when I knew that I knew I what I knew was right.

Share the Story of my childhood friend “Jody Carl!”

Body:

Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and the other Mary (Mark recorded a Lady named Salome) who went to the Tomb to anoint Jesus.

I want you to see that these ladies WERE NOT going to anoint a live body but a dead body.

They were going on a funeral march to anoint the dead body of their Lord!

They Knew that they knew what they knew ....... He was Dead!

This should not be surprising due to the fact just less than 3 days ago they watch Him breath His last breath.

You could not convince them in no way shape or form, that Jesus was Alive!

They heard his last cry from the cross. “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

They witnessed his last breath.

So the march to the Tomb was one of hopelessness.

They were not going to see if Jesus was alive!

They were going to perform a ceremonial burial ritual!

They just knew that they knew what they knew ...... He is dead!

PAUSE

There is another group that believed they knew that they knew what they knew ...... the religious leaders.

They knew that the disciples would try to come and steal the body and make the claim that “he was alive.” (Matthew 27:64)

The leaders of this time believed this would be a bigger fraud than what Jesus was as he lived among them.

This would have a bigger impact than what Jesus had when he was alive.

What they just dealt with (Jesus alive) this would be a bigger one (Jesus raised from the dead).

They knew that the knew what they knew!

They were so convinced .......

Look at the steps they take to assure that this would not happen:

“So they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting a guard.”

The word “sealing” here has the same connotation as what we find used in “And a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords, that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel.”

Some of the other Gospels state there is multiple guards. () “You have a guard of soldiers. Go, make it as secure as you can.” (Swat Team)

This is not standard practice for burial procedures in this day and time.

You just don’t do this!

Why did the leaders of this day do this?

Because they knew that they knew what they knew! The disciples would attempt to fraud the people!

If we put ourselves back in this day and time we can understand why Mary Magdalene and the other ladies felt assured in what the knew.

The same can be stated about the religious leaders.

From their perspective, they knew that they knew the disciples would attempt to steal the body and make a false claim!

THEY KNEW THAT THEY KNEW WHAT THEY KNEW.

Hang with me ...... this is where it get really good!!!!!

Climax:

It would be safe to say, living in their day and time, experiencing what they had just experienced, there was nothing that was going to change the minds of these ladies who were heading to the Tomb.

Jesus is Dead!

But as we read more of the scriptures we see something taking place.

As they get closer to the tomb they see something.

tells us that the guards are passed out.

Remember, we already know that some scholars believe there was guards station on the perimeter as you approached the tomb. (Not just at the tomb)

They find this massive rock rolled away: the tomb is open!

tells us they were “perplexed”! This Greek word is only found 6 times in the NT. (To be in a confused state of mind.)

Its not like they were thinking, “Hum, I wonder what happened here.”

They were like, “This is just unexplainable!”

They are confused!

Why do we get confused about things?

Because we have it already made up in our mind!

We might have it already conceived of how it is suppose to be.

So when something is presented to us that doesn’t fit the the way we thought it would go, it cause this reaction (Confusion)!

This is that word! Perplexed!

PAUSE:

When they get to the tomb the scripture tells us it was open and empty.

I want you to understand something, The tomb was not open so that Jesus could get out.

It was open so that we could get in.

Let’s remember something, “Everything miraculously done by God is done for our behalf not His.”

God doesn’t have to impress himself!

They enter the tomb to find it empty.

To be literally correct the tomb is not empty.

The authors of the Gospel tell us there is some Angels in there, there is the linens that Jesus wore!

But there is something, most assuredly, worth noting that is not in there ....... JESUS!

Wait a minute!

The very thing they knew that they knew what they knew .....come to find out they didn’t know?

Yea ..... That’s our GOD!

You see, they though they knew that they knew what they knew! HE IS DEAD!

BUT THEY WERE WRONG!

Have you ever had this happen to you?

You just knew that you knew what you knew was correct only to find out you were wrong!

There was nothing that could change your mind, you were right, you would stand before a Judge and swear on the bible about it! Only to come find out you were wrong!

Share the story of Tiger woods and the belief that he would never win again.

Has this ever happen to you:

Forgot to study for a test the night before! You know you are going to fail this test only to Pass it!

Had a terrible interview! Knew you blew! Only to find out you got the Job.

There was no way to pay off that medical bill! You couldn’t see any way possible of doing it only to find it was paid in Full! Or you received money anonymously that paid it in full!

All indication was pointing to a passing of a loved one. You drove there to be at the bedside without a shadow of doubt that they were going to be with Jesus in just a short time. You get there to find them sitting up in the bed eating, talking and being released from the hospital a few days later.

Maybe your marriage was moving toward a divorce. There was no way things were going to change. You just knew that it was the end. Then something clicked with you or your spouse or both and the marriage was saved.

Take a look at what takes place now in the tomb.

Remember its been rolled away (Seal has been broken)

The tomb is empty of a body (dead).

Scripture tells us though there is a heavenly being in there ( Angels - Angle)

The angels reveal truth to them. They reminded them of what Jesus had told them.

They knew that they knew what they knew!

BUT THEY DIDN”T KNOW!

WHY?

Why were they not walking to a tomb to see a risen savior?

Because they forgot what Jesus has told them!

Have you ever forgot what the Lord has told you, promised you, spoken over you?

Let’s look back!

- 22 saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.”

Have you forgot what the Lord has told you, promised you, spoken over you?

Let’s not be hard on these followers of Jesus.

I hear believers all the time say, “the world is going nut, it crazy out there!”

I hear them say “When will there not be any more wars. PEACE!”

Why am I going through such a hard time in my life?

They have forgotten what the Word says!

The ends times will be a crazy time in our world.

There will be wars, famine, earthquakes, and disasters!

Why are we astounded when these things tale place? BECAUSE WE HAVE FORGOTTEN!

We also forget what God has for us as well!

Do you know that you know that Jesus love you? or have you been listening to the enemy?

Do you know that you know that Jesus will forgive you? or have you bought into the lie that the sin you commited was the one Christ would forgive?

AS A BELIEVER ....

Isn’t is great to know that you know what you know about Jesus? (Know His word/Know His truth/Know His Love)
