I Will See the LORD’s Goodness

In the Land of the Living

The land of the living is a phrase used to describe the afterlife. The word is used in 116:9, ‘I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living;” and “I cry to you, O LORD; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” Job was certain of this faith as well as he exclaimed, “But I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the end he will stand on the dust. Even after my skin has been destroyed, yet I will see God in my flesh. I will see him myself my eyes will look at him, and not as a stranger. My heart longs within me” ().
