Jesus the Lamb of God gives us the victory.

Paul in writing to the church is preaching the resurrection.
The resurrection is the key to our salvation.
1 Corinthians 15:1–7 NLT
1 Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. 2 It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. 3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 5 He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. 6 After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. 7 Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles.

Our preaching is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:14 NLT
14 And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless.
1 Corinthians 15:
If there is no resurrection of the dead we would have no hope.
But Jesus is alive.
1 Corinthians 15:20 NLT
20 But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.

Jesus is the Lamb of God.

The lamb of God takes away the sin of the world.
Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for us.
John 1:29 NLT
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

The Lamb of God became our sacrifice.

Jesus in John’s gospel references Jesus and the Passover in nine verses: ,; ; ; ; ; , ; .[1] This is significance because of the lamb is the acceptable sacrifice for Passover. The lamb imagery is truly an Old Testament image. “The lamb was the principal animal of sacrifice among the Jews, being the offering each morning and each evening in the Mosaic system (), and esp. on the Sabbath. Lambs were also sacrificed each day of the Feast of Passover (), at the Feast of Pentecost (), Feast of Trumpets (29:1,2), Great Day of Atonement (29:7,8), and the Feast of Tabernacles ().” [2]
[1] According to word search of Passover in John’s gospel in NASB on Accordance Bible (Newman and Nida 1993) software.
Jesus in his lIfe preached repentance.
Jesus in his death defeated death and showed us the power of the resurrection.

That is why we preach the resurrection.

The power of the resurrection

1 Cor 15:42
1 Corinthians 15:42–45 NLT
42 It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. 43 Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. 44 They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies. 45 The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit.

Jesus shows us life.

Sin separates from God.
Jesus unites us with God through his death, burial and resurrection.
Adam showed us death, but Jesus gives us life.

There is a transformation in the power of the resurrection.

Our bodies are buried in brokenness ()
But raised in Glory ()
We are buried in weakness (43c)
We are raised in strength.
1 Corinthians 15:44 NLT
44 They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.

We get another Chance.

First Adam messed it up for us.

1 Corinthians 15:21 NLT
21 So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man.

Second Adam brings life

Jesus is the second Adam for our glory!
1 Corinthians 15:22 NLT
22 Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.
2. This new life is a life through the Spirit of Life by Jesus.

Jesus shows gives us new life and soon a new body in Christ!

1 Corinthians 15:45 NLT
45 The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit.
1 Cor 15:45
Jesus calls us to be born again in him.
We will find new life in Christ.

Victory in Life in Christ

1 Corinthians 15:49 NLT
49 Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man.
We will be like him.
1 C

First we must be changed.

The first change happens when we choose to change.
We choose to give our life to Jesus.
We choose to follow after him.
The second change will happen when Jesus comes back.
This perishable body will inherit an imperishable body.
This will come when the resurrected King comes again.

Changed because of Victory!

1 Corinthians 15:54–57 NLT
54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 cor 15:54-55

Our Victory in the Gospel!

1 Corinthians 15:36 NLT
36 What a foolish question! When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn’t grow into a plant unless it dies first.
1 Cor 15:
We will be changed to See him.
We will behold the Lamb of God!
We will see him face to face.

Victory in Grace

1 Corinthians 15:56–57 NLT
56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 cor 15:56
The law demands penalty for our Sin.
God’s grace through Jesus has given us victory over death.
Thanks be to God!
Thank you for the cross!
Thank you for the Lamb of God!

Conclusion:

Worship the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Worship the Lamb of God who will show us his glory in the end days to the those who are faithful (). So, let us worship him. May we echo the words of Revelation in saying, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain.” May we behold the Lamb of God in reverence for his work of our salvation. Worship the Lamb by repenting and giving your life for service to see Him when he comes back again with all power and glory because the Lamb of God is high and exalted and is coming back again. So glorious is the theme Lamb of God that is the thematic conclusion theme of Handel’s Messiah titled “Worthy is the Lamb.” There are much more Christian music and songs with the Lamb of God as its subject of adoration. The church worships the victorious Lamb of God who has won the victory by his blood as the only eternal acceptable sacrifice of the Lord. God has provided for Israel, his Church the Lamb for our redemption and eternal salvation. Hallelujah we have the victory.
