Our Faith

1 Corinthians 15:12–24 NIV84

12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.

1. Jesus is Alive

The enemy took his shot and he lost

Death tried but lost

The grave tried but it couldn’t hold Jesus down

Because He lives, I live

2. Our Faith is Real

Many lose faith because they can't see Jesus

Many have faith to prevent tragedy but don’t have faith after tragedy

Jesus is never late but always on time to bring glory to the Father

He may arrive after your faith has been pronounced dead

He may arrive when you are holding on by a thread

He may arrive when your are ready to give up/quit

He may arrive when you are burying your future

He may arrive when it looks like it's over

With Jesus on the scene--nothing is ever over until He says it is finished

3. Jesus is the resurrection and life

He can resurrect dead faith

He can resurrect a dead marriage

He can resurrect dead hope

Jesus can restore your faith

He can bring your faith out of the cave

He will remove the obstacles to your faith

Stinky faith does not scare Jesus

4. Our Faith is victorious

The enemy has had you down for too long

All things are possible to those who believe

I can do all things through him who strengthens me

No weapon formed against me shall prosper

5. Our Faith transforms us

Trials are used by God to prepare us for success

Temptations are used to destroy us and our faith

Our own desires conceive sin

Sin conceives death

Death separates us from God

God gives the good and perfect gifts

God gives the good and perfect gifts

Have faith in God even in the midst of the trial

Have faith in God during your test

The reward is coming

Know this, if you are in a trial, the reward is coming

Know this, if you are in the test, the reward is near

The transformation is coming
