Genesis 1:27 AV

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Intro:

1. It is no secret that we have a crisis in our world that is subtle and often overlooked by the average person.

2. It is an attack on every facet of human life. It affects not only mankind’s physical well being but emotional and spiritual wellbeing as well.

3. This attack is well orchestrated.

4. This attack has been a long and hard fought battle for many years. The attackers have made considerable progress in certain areas of the world,and among certain people groups.

5. This crisis has led to many shattered relationships, broken homes, suicide, murder, hatred, reprobation, and eternal damnation.

6. The root of this crisis is not about mankind and how we treat each other, but about how mankind views God and His design.

7. Today, we find ourselves in a world where people are busy trying to fix the worlds problems without consulting with the one who created the world.

8. The end result of this foolish approach to life of not considering the One who created us, will lead us to more frustration and destruction.

Illustration: Years ago Rachelle and I decided that we would buy our son and daughter a basketball goal for Christmas. We attempted to hide it in the basement (we now know that we were not successful). As we drew closer to Christmas we knew we could no longer hide the gift so we decided to give it to them early. I went to the basement and began to assemble the goal in typical he-man fashion. After all, I had played basketball, etc. I had to go back and read the instructions.

9. Where are we at now:

a. Divorce is rampant

b. Abortion is available

c. Human trafficking is widespread

d. Sexually transmitted disease is widespread amongst 19-24 year olds.

e. Homosexuality is promoted as normal and acceptable behaviour.

f. Some boys want to be girls, and some girls want to be boys.

10. This distorted way of viewing men and women has not only plagued the world, but it has also impacted the church.

I. Men and Women are Equal in Design - Image bearer of God

A. They are Distinctly Different 1:27

B. They are Declared to be Different - no declaration previous referring to animals.

II. Men and Women are Equal in Dignity 2: 18-23

A. Comparable 2:18

B. Compliment 2:23

C. She was to Complete him.

III. Men and Women are Equal in their Duty

A. In their Operation - Have Dominion

B. In their Obedience.
