Chapter 3

Ministers of the New Covenant

What does this tell me about God?

Those we disciple become our “letters of recommendation” from Christ
Our sufficiency is from God and not from ourselves; I can claim nothing as coming from myself
God has made me sufficient to be a minister of a new covenant; not of the law, but of the Spirit
The law kills, but the Spirit gives life
Moses’ giving of the law was a “ministry of death”, a “ministry of condemnation”- yet came with such glory Moses had to veil his face
The ministry of righteousness far exceeds the law in glory
When we are filled with the Spirit- His glory will shine through us; just as the glory of the Lord shone on Moses’ face
the law has been brought to an end
the ministry of the Spirit is permanent
We can be bold because we have this hope
Israelites’ minds were hardened; and to this day they read the old covenant with the same veil over their hearts
Only through Christ is the veil taken away
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom
We behold the glory of the Lord with unveiled face
We are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another
This comes from the Spirit of the Lord
