16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

As we just passed the season of Lent and Easter Sunday this year We encountered the resurrected Christ Jesus according to the church’s calendar,
but then now,
where are we heading to next step in our faith journey?
In the liturgical order, you might be thinking that we are heading to the pentecostal day as the day of fulfilling Jesus’ promise to give us the Holy Spirit.
However, before we see the tradition of the historical event of the Bible, we need to remember more significant thing which we are living in the midst of God’s fulfilment of the covenant which we are given by Jesus Christ with the great commission.
where are we heading to next step in our faith journey?
We often think that the passage is for evangelist or for the radical people of God but that’s not the true. We’re all called to have the missional heart!
This passage is not only important in terms of our mission to the people who haven’t found Jesus yet but also for the God’s promise which we have hope that Jesus will come again to restore entirely for us.
However, before we see the tradition of the liturgical order of the church, we need to remember a Jesus’ last commandment as a follower of Jesus Christ.
But I am not talking about Holy Spirit today.
In the liturgical order, you might be thinking that we are heading to the pentecostal day according to the church’s calendar as the day of fulfilling Jesus’ promise to give us the Holy Spirit.
In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus taught us to pray as he wants us to remember through the prayer that “God’s kingdom come and God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
However, before we see the tradition of the historical event of the Bible, we need to remember more significant thing which we are in the midst of God’s fulfilment of the covenant which we are given by Jesus Christ with the great commission.

However, before we see the tradition of the liturgical order of the church, we need to remember a Jesus’ last commandment as a follower of Jesus Christ.
In the last book of the Bible which is the Revelation, it clearly tells us that there will be a worship and praise our God from every nation at the end of the age.
We often think that the passage is for evangelist or radical God’s people but that’s not the true.

9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

We have glimpsed or foretasted the verses we just read, throughout the Easter missions, we had a procession with palm branches at the circular quay and we praised and proclaimed the gospel on Good Friday at the Martine place with people who come from every nation.
Some people may say that is not as important as we keep the sabbath day which is Sunday service.
Yes, that’s true but it is more about evangelism. If we treat the God’s great commandment as just merely for the people who gifted in evangelistic works then it totally misunderstands about the Jesus’ final commend.
However, in order to fulfil the prophecy of the revelation, Jesus knew that why he came to the earth because Jesus came down from the haven to save all people no matter who they are where they come from.

A - Story centred
There is a reason that Jesus has died on the cross for our sins and resurrected from the death for our salvation.
Jesus died and raised up from the death for saving all of us. Not just for a people who are righteous or whom he like.
Imagine that if we are in last moment of a conversation with family or friend or someone whom we love, we probably say very significant words to the people as last words of one’s life.
If we treat those events as just liturgical events in our church life and our next big event is Pentecostal Sunday. Jesus has died on the cross for our iniquities and resurrected from the death for our salvation.
Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He said to us very significant thing which is what we have read the passage today.
There is a reason that Jesus has died on the cross for our sins with iniquities and resurrected from the death for our salvation.
I just want to share one story of my uncle who was pastor and recently passed away due to a stomach cancer. When he was nearly end of his life, he spoke to people who visited him especially for his family.
I just want to share one story from my uncle who was pastor and recently passed away due to a stomach cancer. When he was nearly end of his life, he spoke to people who visited him especially for his family what he said that was “love your God more than everything you love.” His ministry was for over 40 years to share the God’s love to others in order to fulfil the God’s promise. That’s what he most valued in his life and wanted to express to others as well.
What he said that was as a last word before he finished his breath “love your God more than everything you love.” And Keep God’s commandment!
In the same way, Jesus said to us very very crucial words that he wants us to keep his commands in our faith journey until the end of our lives.
He served in ministry for over 40 years to share the God’s love to others in order to fulfil the God’s will. That’s what he most valued in his life and wanted to remind others as well.
Today, I would like to share with you about how we keep the great commission of Jesus Christ in the midst of our faith journey in order to prepare the way of fulfilling the God’s covenant.
I would like to encourage you to ponder that “what is our value and purpose to live as a Christian” and also how we keep the great commission of Jesus Christ in the midst of our faith journey in order to prepare the way of fulfilling the God’s promise to come again.
My question today is that how can we fulfil the God’s will in our lives?
.
Why did Jesus mention the name of all
My question today is that how can we fulfil the God’s great commission in our lives?
우리가 성도로서 마땅히 해야 할 3가지가 있는데 무엇일까요? and also what are the things Jesus commands us to follow as he showed us through his public ministry before he crucified and resurrected 첫째는 말씀 묵상이고 둘째는 기도 마지막 셋째는 오늘 나눌 복음 전파입니다.
Imagine that when we are in last moment of conversation with family or someone whom we love, we probably say very significant words to the people.

There are three ways we could think about why Jesus came to the earth and crucified and resurrected from the death for us.
How can we fulfil the great commission in our lives?

Disciple’s story
Missionary in Korea
This is a first missionary from Australia Davies Joseph Henry, 1856-1890. He was a first missionary in the region where the college existed. He learned Korean in Seoul a capital city of South Korea and all the way walked towards north in South Korea which is Kyoungnam but he was died after 6month since he arrived in the area by endemic when he was 33. And after he passed away, 126 missionaries came to the place and served in medical, education and church for modernization of the region. So in order to remember their sacrifices, the college decided to build a memorial park in the campus with monuments.
I felt that I am a debtor to the Australians for the grace of gospel. I realised somehow God has already planned for me coming to Australia through the college to pay back to the people who are living in Australia in order to fulfil God’s will through me. It was actually starting point for me to find God’s calling to me.
Testimony
When a missionary read from the Bible to people in a remote village in South America, they were hearing about Jesus for the first time. After the man finished reading, a villager asked, “Do you know the Man in the Book?” The missionary assured him that he did.
Later, the missionary recounted the story to a friend. He said, “Thank God, I did know the Man in the Book. I knew Him as my Lord and Savior. And I was able to introduce Him to these people who had never experienced His love and forgiveness.”
The desire of a believer for those who don’t know Christ as their Savior is expressed in this song written by Mildred L. Dillon:
I wish you knew my Jesus
And loved Him as I do,
For if you knew my Jesus,
Then you would love Him too.
He gave His life at Calvary,
The sacrifice for you;
If you’ll receive my Jesus,
Then you will love Him too.
© 1942 William S. Dillon
Every day we rub shoulders with people who need to accept Jesus as their personal Savior. Let’s ask God to fill us with the longing, “I wish you knew my Jesus.” Then we will become instruments in God’s hand to introduce Christ to those who do not know Him.
There are two things we could think about how we be ready.
C - Christ Centred
We need to remember who we are
We need to remember who we are
1. We are God’s disciples

Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary Disciple
The term “disciple” comes to us in English from a Latin root. Its basic meaning is “learner” or “pupil.” The term is virtually absent from the OT, though there are two related references (1 Chron. 25:8; Isa. 8:16).
Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary Disciple
The term “disciple” comes to us in English from a Latin root. Its basic meaning is “learner” or “pupil.”
Disciples - People who followed Jesus and listened to his teachings.
Disciples - People who followed Jesus and listened to his teachings.
As you can see the word disciple, is not just a follower of Jesus Christ, but is a person who keep on listening to Jesus and learning about God’s words constantly.
As you can see the word disciples is not just a follower of
The place in the verse which is the mountain in Galilee, that’s the place where Jesus usually teach people and pray to God and feed the thousands of his disciples physically and spiritually.
Galilee was the main city of Jesus’ public ministry where the people of Samaritan and foreigners from exiles in ancient world had lived there without knowing Jesus as their saviour. That’s why Jesus’ heart was in there and made numerous of disciples by his teaching.
That’s why Jesus’ heart was in there and made numerous of disciples by his teaching.
The mountain is representing a place of holy ground. You may notice as you read the Bible. In Israel, there are so many mountains everywhere south north east and west. When we think of the mountain, we easily think that it’s a quiet place and easy to feel and connect with God’s creatures.
the original word of the place is called “Eremos” it means solitary place. That’s the place for Jesus’ to connect with God through prayer while he was in human being.
Jesus showed that we need to take a solitary place to deeply connect with God by prayer and reading the word of God.
So we need to go to the Galilee where we can find God’s lost children as well as to the mountain that represent a place of God’s presence to pray and learn and listen to God.
Jesus’ closest 11 disciples knew that Jesus would be on the place. So they went to the mountain.
Church can be a spiritual place as Galilee to serve God and others but moreover, in our living places is where God wants us to work as a disciple to find the lost ones.
C - Christ
Jesus’ closest 11 disciples knew that Jesus liked the place and so they went to the mountain.
Jesus taught us through the place that we all need to take a solitary place to deeply connect with God by prayer and reading the word of God to learn about the will of God.
So we need remind ourselves, we are disciples of Jesus Christ and called from Jesus to go to the Galilee where we can find God’s lost children as well as to the mountain that represent a place of God’s presence to pray and learn and listen to God as his disciples.
Jesus taught us through the place that we all need to take a solitary place to deeply connect with God by prayer and reading the word of God.

A’ - My calling story
One of my stories how I found my call while I was undertaking period of discernment at the same time I was working as a community worker to support people with disabilities in the day care centre for their daily activity. During that time, one day I went to shopping centre with five people with disabilities who were mainly down syndromes along with other stuff from the centre. After we had a lunch in the shopping centre, one of them was disappeared. The person accidentally followed one of passing walkers in that area. Thankfully, we ended up given notice that he got safely arrived at home by the passer-by. However, while I was searching for him in the shopping centre within panic, I felt God’s heart. God seemed to talk to my heart that this is my devastated heart for the people who are in need. Go and find God’s children who are in need no matter who they are. I felt full of God’s spirit as He is also eager to find his lost children. This passage of the gospel came to my mind.
One day I went to a shopping centre along with a group of people with disabilities and another staff member from the day-care centre. We went there for lunch. After having lunch, we were going back to the centre as usual in a group. But suddenly, one of clients had disappeared in the shopping centre. So I was in panic. I looked for the lost one almost 2 hours. In the end, I got a call from the centre that he was found by a bystander outside of the shopping centre. During the time of searching for him, I felt God’s heart. God must have the same heart as I was eager to find the lost one. I felt full of God’s spirit as He is also eager to find his lost children. This passage of the gospel came to my mind.
I was reminded of the parable from Luke 153-7
3 So he told them this parable: 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Then Jesus told them this parable: ”Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. then he calls his friends and neighbours together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Jesus came to seek the lost ones. That connects to the passage we read today. That’s the heart of Jesus’ teaching and core value of Jesus’ public ministry.
God is calling you and me to “Go to the Galilee which represents our multicultural city which is in Sydney and find God’s lost one!”
God is with us and make us overcome our fear of coming out from our comfort zone and to obey his calling to find his lost people. The story reminds us that with Christ beside us, we will overcome our fears and do his will.

God is with us and make us be ready to go by his teaching. So as long as we have a time of prayer and have a time of silence with God to listen to the voice of God. We can obey his calling to find his lost people.

B - Another Story
When we think about a married couple, married not because they like each other but because they love one another.
C - Christ Centred
When we think about a married couple, married not because they like each other but because they love one another.
Our relationship with Christ Jesus is like a married couple.
Are we loving and longing to see the eternal life with Jesus Christ? This is a covenant of God.
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
In our human marriage, there is solemn vow as a covenant between man and women.
D - Support Idea
I remember my solemn vow four years ago. I still keep the vow :) Share Marriage life
"In the name of God, I, ______, take you, ______, to be my wife/husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
Ephesians
That means no matter what happened to our life in any circumstances, we promised that we will love regardless of what.
This is the solemn vow.
The reason why God gave us this metaphor is to remind us the covenant and also knowing that how much God loves us.
17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
some doubted - prodigal sons.
There are people who lost their way to come to Christ again.
Our human solemn vow can be breakable, but God’s covenant with us never ever change or brake.
That’s why Jesus called us to reach out the prodigal sons and daughters.
Jesus loves the Church as a man anticipating marriage to the woman of his dreams. He was willing to give His life to save hers.
Ephesians 25
This is happened right beforeJesus was ascended to heaven where God dwells.
When we have doubt about the God’s love we should think the covenant of God in the Word of God.
17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
This is the thing we need to remember.
We are loved first by God
37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
: 37
We are first loved by God and proved by only Son Jesus Christ through the crucifixion. He loves us so much.
So we have to love Jesus Christ first and then love others as ourselves by telling the truth that Jesus loved us so much and given the gospel.
And another verse to remember as a disciple,
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
We are first loved by God and proved by only Son Jesus Christ.
He loves us so much.
In that last moment of His life on earth was telling us that he loves us so much so we also need to love others by sharing the gospel.
We are loved by Jesus Christ. Nothing can separate us from his love as he promised us that he will be with us always to the end of the age.
As Jesus endured his darkness moment, he didn’t merely tell us He loved us, as he had been ransom for our sins.
There are thousands people who still don’t know what they are doing and what they don’t know the love of God.
There are thousands people who don’t know what they are doing and what they don’t know the love of God.
We need to show people how much God loved us by faith in Christ Jesus through our words and deeds.
Are you really love Jesus as a disciple and a bride so that you are willing to keep the commandments.
John 15

Fulfilment of Old Testament.

Fulfilment of Old Testament.
13 “I saw in the night visions,
and behold, with the clouds of heaven
there came one like a son of man,
and he came to the Ancient of Days
and was presented before him.
14 And to him was given dominion
and glory and a kingdom,
that all peoples, nations, and languages
should serve him;
his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom one
that shall not be destroyed.
That’s why Jesus connects the words from verses and been fulfilled with new testament.
C - Christ centred
That’s why we need to make disciples of all nations. That’s God’s prophecy
Congregational reading
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Fix our eyes upon Jesus Christ
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
The word nations (v. 19) is from the Greek word ethnos, which is also the source of the word ethnic. In other words, “Go and make disciples of all ethnicities.” Jesus’ work on the cross opened the way to the Father for everyone.
That’s tremendous a thing to keep the commands because it is almost impossible as human being. That’s why God assures us with the word that He is always with us to the end of the age through the Holy Spirit.
That means whenever we do share the gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ in any circumstances whether we are in hardship or ant

We need to purse the Holy Spirit to come upon us as we wait upon the pentecostal day.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
We can’t do by our own strength or own efforts to fulfil the God’s will. But with the Holy Spirit Yes we can.

아직도 한번도 예수 그리스도의 복음을 들어보지 못한 사람이 세상에는 너무 많다.

만일 오늘이 인생의 마지막 날이라면 내일 주님을 만난다면 과연 우리는 무엇을 보고할까?
I want to challenge you with these questions.
What if Jesus is coming tomorrow?
Why are you here? Why are we living?
We have a purpose to live here
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
2 Timothy
God calls us to be ready for His coming. But we tend to think that’s too far away.
At the end of our day God will examine our deeds whether we did his commands in our lives.
At the end of our day God will examine our deeds whether we kept and did his commands in our lives.
I am not just talking about end times. Because God is our bridegroom and he promised us coming back to us to live everlasting with us.

We are called to share the good news to everyone.
Let’s seize the daily occasions we encounter in our work place, at the grocery store, or in our neighbourhood. May we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our steps and gives us the words to share our hope and joy in Jesus’ way to come upon the earth.
English Standard Version Chapter 12
Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
I am not just talking about end times. Because God is our bridegroom and he promised us coming back to us and live everlasting with us.
We are called to share the good news to everyone for the eternal life

Jesus came to the earth not because he only judged us but because he truly loved us.

There are thousands people who don’t know what they are doing and what they don’t know the love of God.
We need to show people how much God loved us and faith in Christ Jesus through our words and deeds.
There is an end in our physical life. But as we accepted Christ as our saviour. We belong to Jesus.

Jesus purposely chose to cross in order to show his obedience to His Father.
Why did we have all the Easter events last two weeks? was that for ourselves? yes it was about serving others through our being presented in the public area. But most important thing that we are doing for God’s great commission which is sharing God’s steadfast Love and Grace for all of us.

Our Easter Mission has been finished now but our mission is not finishing yet until Jesus Christ come again to us to restore everything on the earth.
Jesus purposely chose to cross in order to show his obedience to His Father.
There is an end in our physical life. But as we accepted Christ as our saviour we live eternally without end as we belong to God.
Let us be ready to prepare the way of God’s restoration by fulfilling Jesus’ great commission which is to share the love of God to people around us.
closing prayer
God, we pray that you would guide our steps towards someone who needs the hope that only comes from Jesus and thank you so much for dying on the cross for us and showing us how much you love us to the entire process leading up to your death and resurrection. Your actions reminds us that no matter how we feel we are loved. Please help us to reflect that your great commission to share with others today. It is in Jesus name we pray Amen.
Stories
He gave His life at Calvary,
The sacrifice for you;
If you’ll receive my Jesus,
Then you will love Him too.
