The Meaning of the 23rd Psalm Verse 4

Psalm 23:1–6 KJV 1900
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23:
As we continue are study of the 23rd Psalm, we come to verse 4.
Psalm 23:4 KJV 1900
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
This is the Lord testing us;
Death cast a frightening shadow over us because we are entirely helpless in His presents.
We know we all will face death.
Hebrews 9:27 KJV 1900
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews
We can struggle with life’s enemies:
Pain
Suffering
Diseases
Injures
Sin
Satan
Know this: Strength and Courage cannot over come death.
A physical death is the Final Word.
Only one person can walk with us through death’s dark valley and bring us safely to the other side.
The Lord of our life,
Our Shepard
The Lord Jesus Christ.
John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
We don’t know when death will take us?
James 4:14 KJV 1900
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Unless we are taken in the Rapture,
We will face death!
It’s just a comfort that we don’t have to travel down death’s Valley all alone.
