Peter’s faith in God

Peter’s faith in God allowed for the lame man to be healed.

A decision was made by Peter.

He could have ignored him and continued walking to the temple.

But he chose to address this lame man’s condition for the benefit of not only him but the people around can know that this was done by God.

Peter’s faith in God healed a man that had been physically bound for all his life.

This was the lame man’s hour of healing, deliverance and liberty!

Walking, Leaping and Praising God

The lame man praised God for what God had done for him. Never before knew how to walk much less leap! When God does something for you, you have to praise Him and let the people know that souls may be won for Him.

The text says in verse 16 that it was faith in God has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Peter’s faith in God healed the lame man’s condition.

Might it represent the longing of a soul to be fully satisfied?

Might it represent the urning of a man to be whole?

This lame man was seeking something that the world could not satisfy.

Then a man by the name of Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, comes passing by to pray at the temple.

For it was Peter’s great confession that declared “thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

A man who I have become to enjoy reading and studying about.

Then comes this great man by the name of Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, to enter the temple.

The same man who denied Jesus 3 times! Not want anything to do with Jesus during the time of Jesus’ persecution!

He was a disciple for Jesus Christ, a great leader and advocate for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It was Peter who also walked on water with Jesus!

Yet it was the same man who denied Jesus three times during the time of Jesus’ persecution!

But it was also Peter who was called back by Jesus to the fold with the other disciples and preached three thousand souls to Christ.

This is an important side note because it shows that God can still use you even if you feel unworthy, even when you feel less than.

But it was also the same Peter who also saved thousands to Christ. Showing you that God can still use you even if you feel unworthy.

Now as the lame man asked for Peter and John for alms. Peter paused and fixed his eyes on him.

The two men on opposite sides of the spectrum meet at the Gate called Beautiful.

On one side of the spectrum you had a lame man who could not even walk and on the other side of the spectrum you had a man who a had just recently been filled with the Holy Ghost!

Here we have two men, on opposite ends of the spectrum, that encounter each other at the Gate called Beautiful.

On one end of the spectrum you had a lame man who could not even walk and on the other end of the spectrum you had a man who a had just recently been filled with the Holy Ghost!

There is great Power in the name of Jesus Christ

Jesus has given us the power of the Holy Ghost to those who believe and He has given us His name that is above every name!

Peter says, “What I have, I give to you.”

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!

What Peter had was faith in God!

Faith that God can do the work.

Faith that God can heal this man.

Faith that God can satisfy this longing soul.

Faith that God can make him whole.

It was Peter’s faith in God that healed this lame man who had been physically bound all his life.

Without the power of God working through Peter’s faith, Peter would be rendered powerless in his attempt to heal this man.

It was not Peter who healed this lame man, but it was the power of God who healed this man.

When faith in God is activated something in the supernatural begins to take place. God begins to work on the behalf of your faith in Him!

He remembered what Jesus said. Have faith in God and you can move mountains!

There is a deep meaning in the word Nazareth!

Nazareth was not just a geographical location nor was it just the place of Jesus’ childhood.

There is a deeper meaning behind the word Nazareth as it stems all the way back to the Old Testament.

Jeremiah prophesied in , “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king.

What this tells me is that Embedded in the word Nazareth is the fulfillment of the Old Testament scriptures that were prophesied by prophets about Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the fulfillment of what our forefathers prophesied and with Him comes great Power from God!

Embedded in this word Nazareth is the Power of God dating back to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our forefathers!

The word Nazareth is the fulfilment of Old Testament scripture through Jesus Christ!

Embedded in the word Nazareth was Peter’s confession of faith in this man Jesus Christ!, Thou art the Christ the Son of the Living God!

When Peter declared, In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth! He wasn’t just calling a name of a city,

But he was calling on Jesus Christ whom the Scripture foretold!

He was calling on Jesus Christ, The Son of the Living God!

He was calling on The same God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

The same God of Moses, Who’s Power split the Red Sea!

The same God of Moses, Who’s Power sent down manna from heaven to feed His people!

The same God of Daniel, Who’s Power shut the mouth of the Lion.

The same God of the three Hebrew Boys, Who’s Power allowed them not to be burned!

And It is the same God, Who’s Power, Peter knew, can heal this lame man!

And It is the same God, Who’s Power Peter knew, can heal this lame man!

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Rise up and Walk!

Not only was Nazareth the place of Jesus’ childhood but more than that it was Moses who said that coming after me. The Branch that would come out of Jesse’ stump.

Embedded in this word Nazareth is the Power of God by faith!

Jesus is the fulfillment of what our forefathers prophesied and with Him comes great Power from God!

With the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth comes great Power from God by faith!

And as Peter lifted him up, immediately the lame man received strength in his feet and ankle bones.

The lame man praised God for what God had done for him.

Never before knew how to walk much less leap!

But he began walking and leaping and praising God! Gives me new meaning to the song

I will enter into His gates with Thanksgiving in my heart! I will enter His Courts with Praise! I will say this is the day that the Lord has made, I rejoice for He has made me glad!

That’s why we should always come to the house of the Lord with a praise!

But I KNOW we’ve all been redeemed by the blood of the lamb!

What I like about this lame man, is after he was healed and delivered he went straight into the temple with Peter and John!

In this case, It wasn’t just the words that Peter spoke that healed the man, but it was his actions behind what he spoke.

Scriptures says that, “He took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

Yes it is important to speak the Word of God. But in this case also the act is very necessary.

Peter spoke the Word that does not just inform but also performs and transforms.”

“Peter informed in verse 6, he performed in verse 7, and the lame man was transformed in verse 8.”

We must also be not just hearers of the Word, but doers also.

It is not good enough just to be hearers of the Word, because what benefit is it that we know it but don’t apply it.

At a certain point we have to move from the feel good messages and act by faith for the benefit of the church and more importantly for the benefit of the kingdom of God.

The Church

Verse 8 states that he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them!

He remembered what faith in God can do.

Peter and John represents the church, and the lame man represents the world who does not know Christ.

He remembered what faith in God can do.

Now as I look and analyze the text, Peter and John represents the church.

The ability to heal, deliver and set free is given by the power of God if we exercise faith in Him.

And in His name, and by the power of His Word speaking through them.

Jesus has given us the power of the Holy Ghost to those who believe and He has given us His name that is above every name!

As the church pushes forward in this season of revival and evangelism, know that we have the Lord God Almighty with us.

We have to exercise faith in God, men can be heal, delivered and set free. Having faith in God can produce the miracles signs and wonders. All through the book of Acts we see what faith in God.

This constitutes as a miracle, because you can’t even explain it.

We have saints who can preach, sing, pray, speak in Spanish, skillful with their hands, hospitality.. all gifts that can help build God’s church.

We have intelligent people and the house of God. Now there is nothing wrong with using your intelligence in the house of God.

The problem is that when we use are intelligence to trump our ideas to move the church forward.

It is easy to use our intelligence say why we cannot do something as a church.

The challenge would be to use our intelligence to figure out a way to get it done.

Intelligence to make those hard decisions as a church, even when it may be an unpopular decision.

What prevents the body of christ from moving forward is self-doubt, a mindset that says we cant...

There are men and women with various conditions all around us that need that there is a God in Israel that can heal, deliver and set free.

As the church pushes forward in evangelism and revival, there are going to be obstacles in our way.

Whatever the issue or condition is God can turn it around!

There are conditions that we will come up against.

All satan comes to do is kill, steal and destroy.

Sometimes we have to fight for peace in the house.

So brethren if we are one, let us come together at the altar as one!

We have to confront whatever is not allowing peace to reign in the house of God.

We have to actively seek out peace and pursue it!

If there is going to any growth in the church peace must reign within the church.
