Opening: I love that Hymn that reminds us of How we are spiritually cleansed. What Can Wash Away Our Sin … Nothing But the Blood of Jesus.
I used to use soap and a wash cloth, but today I use a Irish Spring and a detailing brush. That is what I use to clean the outside of my body.
What about the inside. How can I be forgiven of my sin and cleansed.
Paul is don’t praying the Colossians to understand the His Will, to Walk worthy of Him, and to be fruitful.
Now Paul directs his attention to the understanding the spiritual transaction that is occured in the believer life.
He is theologically building the believer understanding.
Destined for Damnation Paul reveals we have been rescued by the BLOOD to redemption.. Paul and the Colossians were thankful and so should be be thankful.

I. We Have a Spiritual Inheritance vs 12

A. We have been made fit for Heaven “Meet”
1. God has “made us” - meaning that we qualify not because of any merit of our own. We are spiritually dead unto God but made alive through Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:6 KJV 1900
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
2. “Meet” - He has so changed us that we are fit for His Glory.
3. He has fitted us with a new nature that make us functional in His presence. A person who is unregenerate that enters Heaven would not be able to function because of the Nature. Unfit! No change in desires or nature.
4. He has changed us from the inside out.
B. We have Been Made Partakers of a New Inheritance.
Matthew 25:34 KJV 1900
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
1.
Acts 8:21 KJV 1900
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
1.Partaker means - a part set aside for a specific purpose. It is what is common between.
2. We were made to have something that was not ours. We can share. We are joint-heirs with Jesus
3. We are partakers of a special group … growing up we made a group that wore Jackets called Members Only. The Jackets made us a part of the group.
4. Our “inheritance”- allotment is accordance to a will. Have you every inherited something from someone that did something. Same with out inheritance form Christ.
5. In Heaven there is not darkness our inheritance is Heaven and all those with manifest light.

I. We Have a Spiritual Inheritance vs 12

II. We have a Spiritual Kingdom vs 13

A. We have been delivered from the Rules and Realm of Darkness.
1. The rule and realm of darkness is Satan’s Domain.
2. It is not limited the rules and ream of sin as well.
B. We have been delivered into the Rules and Realm of Jesus Christ.
1.Word delivered means to be rescued.
1 Thessalonians 1:10 KJV 1900
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
2. Were were put into a minority crowd
3. We were put into equality with God’s own Son.

I. We Have a Spiritual Inheritance v 12

II. We have a Spiritual Kingdom v 13

III. We have a Spiritual Redemption v 14

A. We have Redemption Through His Blood:
1.The Greek Word Apolutroisis which denotes release through a ransom payment. A full redemption.
Ephesians 1:7 KJV 1900
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Colossians 1:20 KJV 1900
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
2. The pagan ransoming of slaves is inherent in the Greek word: To set free by purchase price. “His blood”
1 Peter 1:18–19 KJV 1900
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
I
We are not purchased from Satan, but God’s holy perfection is satisfied by Christ.
Acts 20:28 KJV 1900
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
B. We have forgiveness Through His Blood
1.Israel was forgiven
Luke 23:34 KJV 1900
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
But not redeemed
Acts 3:19 KJV 1900
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Acts
A man can be forgiven and still go to hell.
Matthew 18:32 KJV 1900
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
OT saints were forgiven … BUT NOT REDEEMED till 400 years later
Exodus 34:1–8 KJV 1900
And the Lord said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount. And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount. And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone. And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.
Exodus
Galatians 4:5 KJV 1900
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
