The Love Of God
Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel.
I am moved by what I believe.
I believe the WORD of God!
The victory is mine!
I have it now!
I can see it through the eyes of my faith!
So Last week, we talked about the grace and mercy of God
Grace is God’s giving us what we do not deserve, and mercy is God’s not giving us what we do deserve.
The Love Of God
The word Commendeth means to show, prove, exhibit, demonstrate!
It’s in the present tense:
which means today God is showing and proving his love to us!
This Love is directed to the sinner: The people described in Romans 1:29-31
Here is my point - While we were and are operating and living lives as sinners - God proved his love for you and me!
This that love that stooped down to save me and you!
See we would expect him to save someone who is righteous and good, but it catches us off guard when he saves those called sinners
This is Love
The first thing we preach as the Good News is that Christ died for us!
He died for our benefit
He died for our sake
He died on our behalf
He died instead of you and me
He died as our substitute
This Is Love
This love - transcends religion and just being good!
This Love does not only love the people who love him,
This Love includes the unbelieving,
The Selfish
The greedy
The spiteful,
The vengeful,
and The haters
This Love of God wants everyone to be saved:
God is Love
God Loves: He Acts on His Love, He demonstrates and shows His Love.
This Love Acts:
This Love expresses itself, God’s love does not sit still doing nothing!
God’s love is not dormant, complacent or inactive
God wants us to know his love!
He wants us to reach everyone in this world with his love!
This Is Love
Even before he gave up his life for us
This Is Love
God took the initiative to save you and me!
We did not seek to save ourselves.
God looked out to save you and me
He gave his only begotten Son - Jesus!
This Series has brought us to this place!
This is Love - God’s Love which was designed to save you and me!
This is Love that came to keep us from perishing
This is Love that came to give us eternal life
This is Love that came to save us - based on our belief
