The Beauty of the birth of Jesus Christ

It is the joy of God in our lives that we can once again gather and worship Christ our Savior. Moreover when we gather despite our problems and struggles when we meet each other we say a common thing PRAISE THE LORD, despite our differences in mother tongue this phrase unites us with joy and moreover fills our lives with excitement looking forward to live with hope and to stand as a witness for Christ.

This passage is the story of the birth of Jesus, and there are some visitors who gather to come and visit Jesus. These visitors teach us some valuable inputs and I would like to look at this portion, from what this people teach us.

1. What do you seek? Verse 2

These people were seeking for a king, may I ask you who are seated here – who is the king of you life? These people looked out for Jesus, the glory of the Universe born as flesh. This is the first thought I would like to ask you all to consider please do seek Jesus in your life. Let me remind you or take this moment to consider who you were? Before you became a believer.

God’s love transformed us and created us in His image but this image was tarnished because of the sin, and we read in and how sin corrupted the creation of God. And this created a great unrest between God and man and there was no peace because God hated sin and God’s anger to sinner is what the Bible teaches . But interestingly the Bible teaches us though God is angry at sin and sinners he loves the sinner who repents. Dear brothers and sisters, even when as a believer we stand it is important to acknowledge whom we seek in our lives it should not be only for the money or gain in our lives, but if it is the Almighty God we seek, though we have a tough time we will have the excitement and joy.

2. Where do you look? Verse 3 and 4

Another thing I would like to ask you to consider is where you look. The wise men teaches us to look at the scriptures, but when they started looking they only thought a king could be born in a palace but they didn’t think that a King could be born in a manger. They looked for in the wrong place, they looked at their human reasoning and thought when they saw the star, a king is born in Jerusalem.

It was a mistake they made in their lives, and they understood they need to re-examine the passages. Dear brothers and issters God the Almighty didn’t provide us any redemption, He has given us His word to remind us where to look out for our Savior. Not in pilgrimage, temples, incarnations, money etc.

Look for our Savior, is what the Bible teaches us, and observe what God has done for us dear believers. The bible teaches us, about the picture of our salvation, as we look for our Savior we need to seek what our Savior provides us – SALVATION.

How do we do it? In your seeking?

– REPENT & BELIEVE in the gospel

The bible teaches us and the word of God makes it clear, by how we can obtain our salvation. The answer to our redemption from our sins is by first REPENTING not to any human, bu only to God and giving up humanely methods to find salvation. Second, BELIEVE on the words of God, trusting on Jesus who paid the price of our salvation, from our sins. Dear believers this is we acknowledge our mistakes to our Saviour and believe he is the one who can rescue us.

Dear brethren we need to examine what the Bible teaches on what to do? In whom we seek?

3. What do we give? Verse 11 and 12

The joy of our lives is the birth of Christ, and the opportunity God has given for us sinners to be a part of His kingdom. So it is important in what we give, dear brothers and sisters, we need to also give to God. Once we know who we seek, where we look more importantly, what do we give to God?

Dear brothers and sisters, I request you to consider how we respond to God’s love take more seriously. It is not the money or wealth, but it is the response of our human hearts that matters.

· Gifts: GOLD – KING

· Gifts: FRANKINCENSE – used in the temple – PRIEST

· Gifts: MYRRH – gift used for the dead – SACRIFICE – ointment for embalmment

These gifts draw a symbolic narration to the life of Jesus, and this is a reminder of what we need to remember ourselves with these gifts for our lives. The quantity of gifts is not what matters, but our responses to the salvation God has offered that matters, and we need to give God accordingly how? Confession

I conclude by asking you to consider, the offer of the love of Christ to consider if you are hearing this message for the first time, the joy of God who has given us and if anyone has heard this for this first time please use this time repent believe and confess, and if anyone has done this please raise your hands so we can pray for you.
