Godly people in your life

Jehosaphat was a Godly man (2 Chronicles 17:3-4;6)
The Lord was with him
He walked in the earlier ways of King David
He sought the Lord & forsook the practices of the kings of Israel who abandoned God
He was courageous for the ways of God
25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
encourage you spiritually
encourage you in the things of God - (Jehosaphat)
1 Corinthians 15:33 LEB
Do not be deceived! “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
Safeguard from sin

Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 LEB
Two are better than the one, for they enjoy a better reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will help up his companion. But pity the one who falls and there is no one to help him up. Also if two lie together, they can keep each other warm. But how can one person be warm? Although an assailant may overpower one person, two may withstand him. A threefold cord is not easily broken!
Spiritual support
2 Chronicles 16:9

9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.”

Guided by biblical principles

2 Chronicles 18:4 LEB
Then Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Seek first of all the word of Yahweh.”
2 Chronicles 18:6 LEB
Then Jehoshaphat said, “Is there not here another prophet of Yahweh that we might inquire of him?”
2
Proverbs 3:5–6 LEB
Trust Yahweh with all your heart; do not lean toward your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will straighten your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Psalm 20:7 LEB
Some boast in chariots and others in horses, but we boast in the name of Yahweh, our God.
1 John 4:1–4 LEB
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
When Jehosaphat initially said lets enquire of the Lord and Ahab summoned the 400 prophets of baal, Jehosaphat was able to discern that this is not of God
and you need people in your life that are spiritually sensitive enough to call a spade a spade and not be concerned about your feelings but be concerned about you soul to the point they are bold enough to say, this is not of God

You need contemporaries whom God is currently using, more over you need to be Pastored

2 Chronicles 18:7 LEB
Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom to seek Yahweh, but I hate him, because he never prophesies good concerning me, but always disaster. He is Micaiah the son of Imlah.” Then Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say thus.”
2 Chronicles
Ahab avoided being Pastored
Ahab avoided accountability
Godly advice
You need to be Pastored
You need people in your life that genuinely care about you spiritually
pray for you
Ephesians 4:11–16 LEB
And he himself gave some as apostles and some as prophets and some as evangelists and some as pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all reach the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to a measure of the maturity of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be infants, tossed about by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching, by the trickery of people, by craftiness with reference to the scheming of deceit. But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow into him with reference to all things, who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body, joined together and held together by every supporting ligament, according to the working by measure of each single part, the growth of the body makes for the building up of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:
PEOPLE YOU DON’T NEED IN YOU LIFE

People that only tell you good stuff....flattery (;)

Proverbs 27:5-6
Proverbs 27:5–6 LEB
Better a rebuke that is open than a love that is hidden. The wounds of a friend mean well, but the kisses of an enemy are profane.
5 Better is open rebuke
than hidden love.
6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted,
but an enemy multiplies kisses.
People that only tell you what you want to hear don’t really have your back, THEY GOT THERE OWN BACK!
THEY ARE LOOKING OUT FOR THERE OWN BEST INTEREST
ITS LIKE THE PHARMCEUTICAL INDUSTRY....THEY JUST WANT TO MEDICATE …THEY DON’T WANT TO CURE ..
LETS GET TOO THE ROOT
Proverbs 29:5
5 Those who flatter their neighbors
Proverbs 27:5–6 LEB
Better a rebuke that is open than a love that is hidden. The wounds of a friend mean well, but the kisses of an enemy are profane.
are spreading nets for their feet.
WHEN YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE THAT ONLY SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR, YOU ARE SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR FAILURE!
AND YOUR BEING DECEIVED
Proverbs 20:14 LEB
“Bad, bad,” the buyer will say, but when one goes to him, then he will boast.
PROVERBS 20:14
14 “It’s no good, it’s no good!” says the buyer—
then goes off and boasts about the purchase.

Go along to get along

2 Chronicles 18:12–13 LEB
Then the messenger who went to call Micaiah said to him, “Behold, the words of the prophets are good with one voice to the king. Please let your word be as one with them and speak good.” But Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, only what my God has said, that will I speak.”
2 Chronicles 18:12-13
Ephesians 4:15
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ
John 7:50–51 LEB
Nicodemus, the one who came to him previously—who was one of them—said to them, “Our law does not condemn a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?”

Rejects Godly counsel (; )

Psalm 1:1
1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
James 4:17
17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
Proverbs 27:5–6 LEB
Better a rebuke that is open than a love that is hidden. The wounds of a friend mean well, but the kisses of an enemy are profane.
