What is sin?
What is sin?
well, first of all, all have sinned so lets just get that out of the way. the bible says very clearly in that ALL have sinned. and when it says all, that's all it means… All.
long story short, sin is anything that goes against God or his word. so short list includes stealing, lying, murder, of the sorts… God sees every sin equally… so next time you steal a dollar or a piece of gum from moms purse remember that it puts you with not only liars but murderers also! the second part of that verse, fallen short, man, we have missed the mark hard… imagine i asked you to take a small stone and throw it from here to Antarctica… you couldn't… that's us trying to measure up to gods perfection.
What is the price for sin? and who pays it?
What is the price for sin? and who pays it?
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. The punishment for sin is death! now, when we say death what were really talking about is more separation, right? when we die our soul is separated from the body that is physical death, but the death we see in is the separation of our soul from God, spiritual death, forever, in eternity. Now if your not a follower of jesus and you don't have your faith and trust in him, YOU pay the price for your sins! your separated from christ forever in a very real place called hell. After all, it was you who did it, it’s only right, am i right? but here the best news you could ever get in your life, are you ready for it? Jesus will take your punishment for you… in fact, he already did you just need to believe it!

when you cry out to god, he hears you! everyone who calls, EVERYONE. it doesn't matter who you are… rich or poor, kind or rude, a murderer or a sweet grandma baking cookies, we all need jesus and he wants us, he cares for all of us and loves each of us with the same obnoxious overzealous love that has no limitations! if you think your sin is too much for God than you don't know who he is! my God, is greater, than any sin, than every sin. just as gods sees every sin the same, and punishes equally he redeems equally too! no matter how big.
What is salvation?
What is salvation?
When Jesus Christ satisfied the anger of God against our sin by taking the punishment we deserve and rising from the grave the third day.
when he took the place for our sin that we rightly deserved, he saved us, this is our salvation.
How do we earn it?
How do we earn it?
How do we earn it?
Short answer, we cant. there is absolutely nothing we can do to earn it. we cant buy our way to heaven and we cant do a certain number of good things to work our way there or to gain favor with god and its certainly not from praying some special or magic prayer. all we do for this salvation is trust in christ!
what comes next?
what comes next?
once we are in his hands he will never let us go! he will never leave or forsake us.
once we are in his hands he will never let us go! he will never leave or forsake us. but listen… your life wont always change like a saul to paul moment… in fact normally it takes time. how many of you have ever come accross poison ivy or something similar? you know how it gives you a rash and its really annoying? what is our tendencies when we get a rash or otherwise irritated skin? to scratch it! listen, sin your sin, whatever it is is just like that rash, you come in contact with it and at first your very cautious and you try not to mess with it too much, you kind of will hide it and hope no body sees it while you wait for it to magically go away… but it doesn't, does it… you start to itch it a little bit, after all it feels nice, a little relief maybe. so as time goes by you realize that itching it makes it easier to bear at first so you keep itching it and maybe it will get better but if your being honest its just making things worse, sometimes it even will spread to others. you try everything in your power but nothing works, it. wont. go. away… but here comes god, here comes jesus and he says, ive got some rash cream for you, just accept it, all you need to do is take it and its yours, it works, trust me… trust me… you ask, how long does it take… as long as it needs too… so here we are… god has offered you his remedy, he has offered you his blood… his life. its your choice to take it. when your saved the bible says he washes you clean, white as snow… that doesn't mean your wicked desires go away, it means you have a clean slate… jesus blood washes your sins from the ledger and now they are placed on his shoulder to bear… every sin you've ever committed is now on jesus shoulder as he hangs on the cross for you… that doesn't mean you wont ever sin again, in fact i can guarantee that you will, but what it means is that your no longer the one paying the consequences for those sins but hear this now, that fist dose of gods remedy, feels so great and so re-leaving, and sometimes it doesn't, we cant rely on the “feeling” of something different to secure our salvation but as time goes on it slowly is changing you, healing you. when you put on lotion for the first time, is your skin perfectly healed with no chance of ever breaking out again? no! it takes time, and faithful applications of Gods word to seep into our lives and change us from the inside out! that means that our surface level things, the rashes, those take the longest to heal.
Conclusion
Conclusion
So when you doubt, remember… your always a work in progress! but remember, he is the author and perfecter of our faith, he began and will see our growth through til the end! for the joy… his desire is to have a relationship with us, that is where we find joy. because of his desire for relationship with us, he endured the cross, the shame, of the cross, the lowest of the low, just to be with you and me…and now it risen again and sitting at the right hand of God! do you want this relationship with god? all you need to do is believe, trust that he died for your sins and rose on the third day
