INTRODUCTION: In , God mentions "3 worlds." The first, one is in verse 6, "The world that then was..." The second one is in verse 7, "The heaven and the earth which are now..." The third one is in verse 13, "We... look for new heaven and new earth..." To put it plainly and simply in Bible language, the three worlds are:
THE WORLD THAT WAS,
THE WORLD THAT IS NOW, AND A NEW WORLD THAT GOD IS GOING TO MAKE.
THE WORLD THAT WAS. (v. 6) Three worlds in describe the world God destroyed. It was a world of COMPROMISE. () It was an age when descendants of the Godly, righteous Seth married the ungodly, unrighteous descendants of Cain. God looked on this intermingling of believer and the unbeliever and pronounced judgment. () It was a world of CORRUPTION. () It was a world of VIOLENCE. () THE WORLD THAT IS. (v. 7) Three worlds characterize this world Fire Judgment Perdition You can attend the house of God every day of your life, and you can be as honest as the day is long, but if you reject God's son, the Bible teaches that FIRE, JUDGMENT, and PERDITION are coming to you. THE WORLD THAT SHALL BE. (v. 13) Three words that characterize the world to come for the Christian. Righteousness Immorality Beauty
