Introduction:
If you haven’t had your head stuck in the sand - you’ve probably seen that this world is on a downward spiral. The Bible says in ...
Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.
(HCSB)
12 Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.
Q: Lawlessness is truly being multiplied today isn’t it?
Violence in the streets
Infant murder being promoted as ‘god’s work’
Wickedness accepted and normal and promoted on mainstreet
To the point where sin is considered good and good considered bad - Evil - good/ Good - Evil. says “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil...
> Thank God that when sin abounds Grace about much more!
But the point I want to address today is two fold -
The love of many will grow cold
But the point I want to address today is two fold - ‘The love of many will grow cold’ and ‘the one who endures to the end will be delivered’.
the one who endures to the end will be delivered
> Say this with me… I will not be Holy Spit!
Ya see - if we allow our love to grow cold we will automatically become lukewarm
Lukewarm
Please turn to Rev 3:14
“Write to the angel of the church in Laodicea:
“The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Originator of God’s creation says: I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,’ and you don’t know that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked, I advise you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire so that you may be rich, white clothes so that you may be dressed and your shameful nakedness not be exposed, and ointment to spread on your eyes so that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be committed and repent. Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me. The victor: I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also won the victory and sat down with My Father on His throne.
“Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.”
(HCSB) 14 “Write to the angel of the church in Laodicea: “The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Originator of God’s creation says: 15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,’ and you don’t know that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked, 18 I advise you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire so that you may be rich, white clothes so that you may be dressed and your shameful nakedness not be exposed, and ointment to spread on your eyes so that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be committed and repent. 20 Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me. 21 The victor: I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also won the victory and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.”
Q: Do you want to be Holy Spit or be Victory in Christ Jesus?
Please turn to , here we find the word of God to be like a mirror. We come to it to see what we look like to God, and as we see ourselves, we want to make whatever changes are necessary to look presentable.
Turn to James 1:22
But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
(HCSB) 22 But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
So if we just hear the Word and don’t do it we are deceiving ourselves!
says
But if it doesn’t please you to worship Yahweh, choose for yourselves today the one you will worship: the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my family, we will worship Yahweh.”
(HCSB) 15 But if it doesn’t please you to worship Yahweh, choose for yourselves today the one you will worship: the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my family, we will worship Yahweh.”
The Choice is Yours
Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality, no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom. And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap,
(HCSB) 7 Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap,

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’ Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!’

Be Victorious
John answered them all, “I baptize you with water, but One is coming who is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to untie the strap of His sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
(HCSB) 16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with water, but One is coming who is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to untie the strap of His sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
I am coming quickly. Hold on to what you have, so that no one takes your crown.
(HCSB) 11 I am coming quickly. Hold on to what you have, so that no one takes your crown.

Hear this,
you foolish and senseless people.
They have eyes, but they don’t see.
They have ears, but they don’t hear.
