The End Game part 2

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
INTRODUCTION
Good Morning, Southpointe
We are in this series The End Game, now I am not preaching off of the show The End Game, but just borrowing their title.
We want to take you this morning, to the time and place that change the world forever.
The Crucifixion, The Resurrection and now the great Revival.
Revival is a word that is toss around in the Christian church world.
Revival is so misunderstood. We in the Christian church world seems to use revival in a general term as Revival meetings, if it be one, two, weeks or months of coming together for church services.
Web. definition: Revival
Noun 1.Revival - bringing again into activity and prominence;
2. Revival - an evangelistic meeting intended to reawaken interest in religion.
2. Revival - an evangelistic meeting intended to reawaken interest in religion.
Legal Dictionary
REVIVAL, contracts. An agreement to renew the legal obligation of a just debt, after it has been barred by the act of limitation or lapse of time, is called its revival. Vide Promise.
REVIVAL, practice. The act by which a judgment, which has lain dormant or without any action upon it for a year and a day is, at common law, again restored to its original force.
I think in our Christian Church world, we have taking on Revival: meaning a series of meetings that will reawaken interest in religion.
If that be the case there would have been no need for Christ to have a end game. Because in Jesus’ time they had religion.
You had the Pharisee,
The origin of the term “Pharisee” comes from the Aramaic word פרשׁ (prsh), which means “to separate,” “divide,” or “distinguish.”

• Public demonstrations of piety, such as wearing phylacteries and fringed garments (Matt 23:5)

• Claiming seats of honor in public settings (Matt 23:6)

• Claiming titles of distinction (Matt 23:7)

They were well known for their self-righteousness and their pride.
They were from the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, they were bitter and a constant enemy to Jesus.
The Sadducees
Then there was The Sadducees:

the name was originally an ambiguous, allusive designation like the Dead Sea Scrolls’ “Wicked Priest” or “Seekers of Smooth Things.”

They did not believe in the Resurrection, angels, or no spirit, in other words that did not believe in life after death.
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
Jesus called them a generation of vipers.
You see, those that where strict as if you spit on the sidewalk you are going to hell, and to those that where know as the seekers of smooth things.
So I don’t believe that was the case was the end game this great revival that Jesus was telling His disciples to go into.
But Revival is a whole different thing: Revival means to restore, to bring back alive.
A few months ago, I was at my brother-in-laws and I was looking at his new home that he was building and I looked out in the back yard area and just back by his barn was my dad’s old truck.
A few months ago, I was at my brother-in-laws and I was looking at his new home that he was building and I looked out in the back yard area and just back by his barn was my dad’s old truck.
show the pictures of Dad’s old truck
That old truck has a lot of memories for me and my family. And so I said, Kenny is that not my dad’s old truck and He said yes.
And I went out looking at it, Connie’s dad had bought that truck from my dad years ago and I think that old truck had been sitting out there over 20 years or more.
It was need to be restore, brought back to life.
But that was not going to happen by just looking at it and discussing how we need to restore and put it back on the road. Action was needed.
Show the picture of dad’s old truck on the trailor.
Jason washed the truck and started getting the engine fire up.
show the video of the engine running.
Because to get something back you must start on what makes it tick.
It was not what it was on the outside but it was what is under the hood.
It was the hidden, that the outward.
For the end plan to be accomplished then God was starting a work in the disciples first.
During the forty days after His crucifixion, He appeared to the apostles from time to time, and He proved to them in many ways that He was actually alive. And He talked to them about the Kingdom of God.
Once when He was eating with them, He commanded them, "Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift He promised, as I told you before.
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
Three things I want you to look at that was the starting point of the End game.
1. Jesus taught them about the Kingdom of God.
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
I have often wondered what did Jesus teach them. Because we have many things that was recorded about Jesus’ teaching but nothing is said what.
I don’t think that Jesus taught them the what to wear and not to wear list, or the what to eat and not to eat.
But I would think and I don’t really know but maybe it was about love and forgiveness.
Because a few verses down they are dealing with replace Judas and you don’t see them, look at the candidates and telling them how do you handle the money, do you have a problem in the money.
What is your loyalty responsibility.
They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.
They were united in prayer. if you are going to fulfill the end game plan then I think Jesus must have told them remember How I prayed.
Peter started talking and said we must replace Judas, He was one of us and He help us in the ministry but He sold out and now He is death and He will get his reward.
Peter continued, "This was written in the book of Psalms, where it says, 'Let his home become desolate, with no one living in it.' It also says, 'Let someone else take his position.'
Not only where they united in prayer but now they are focus on the Word of God. Peter said in the book of Psalms: We must, they were be obedient to God’s Word.
And You don’t sense any bad blood, It was as we are letting this go and move on Judas failure but we are moving on. That’s how you get over be hurt. You move on>
It is amazing to me that in the great commission Matthew 28:20
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
2. Jesus commanded them and they were obedient.
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Once when He was eating with them, He commanded them, "Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift He promised, as I told you before.
The Commandments of God are very important if you want to be in the perfect will of God.
Because it being in the will of God that brings the blessings of God into our lives.
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Be obedient and you will have the blessings of God, but if you don’t death will come to your hopes, dreams, and life everlasting with God.
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Jesus told the disciples to go and wait until that where empowered from on high.
Jesus spend 40 days with them and then when home. The disciples had to be obedient and wait and they waited for 10 days.
In the Bible, the number 10 is used 242 times. Ten is viewed as a complete and perfect number, as is 3, 7 and 12.
10 signifies testimony, law, responsibility and the completeness of order.
In we find the phrase "God said" 10 times, which is a testimony of His creative power.
God gave the 10 Commandments to man. Ten represents man's responsibility to keep the commandments.
A tithe is a 10th of our earnings and is a testimony of our faith in the Lord.
The Passover lamb was selected on day 10 of the 1st month, as was Jesus, the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world.
Day 10 of the 7th month is also the Holy Day known as the Day of Atonement.
Are you being obedient to God? First day is exciting and you are expecting God to do something great, Second day it is ok, third thur the ninth day oh no where is God? and the 10 day, quit or fulfill the promise of God.
3. Jesus was wanting them to be willing and receiving.
John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
Just like when John baptized you with water for the remission of your sins, and you was open to receiving the water baptism. That what I want you to do with the Holy Spirit baptism.
Are you willing to receive what God has for you?
And that tenth day something happen!!
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
I want you to pay attention to a couple of things.
The day of Pentecost was fully come.
Tenth day being completion.
When they were completely ready God drop the end game.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
