I can clearly see know why she receives our gifts with mixed emotions.
Happy Mother's Day to the mom who's raising the perfect kids.
Mary had mixed emotions I’m sure as she stood at the cross with, “The disciple that Jesus loved.”
She probably felt like a failure .
She had to be in pain as her son hung in agony.
But amazingly she stood near the cross.
Jesus predicted that all the followers would abandon him at his death, scattering to their own homes (16:32), but the women stand firm
She had to be super close because Jesus is able to speak to her.

For those you here this morning in pain or possibly feeling like a failure, I believe Jesus is speaking to you this morning.
He is saying enough:
You Are Enough
Why because Jesus is enough!
The work on the cross is enough for us all.
The finished work of the cross will sustain us if we place our trust in Jesus.
V.26,27 Jesus says to his mother, “Woman here is your son, and to the disciple, Here is your mother.”
Jesus in his dying moments, cared for his mother, in the same way she cared for him through the years.
Her well being was his last care as he hung on the cross.
In keeping with biblical teaching to honor your parents () Jesus made provision for his mother.
()
In keeping with biblical injunctions to honor one’s parents (Ex 20:12; Dt 5:16), Jesus made provision for his mother, who was almost certainly widowed and probably in her early fifties, with little or no personal income.
At this point she was most certainly widowed and probably in her early fifties, with little or no personal income.
He secured for her an adopted son, obtained her a home, and made sure someone was with her as she grieved.
Likewise, he said to the disciple who he loved, “Here is your mother.”
Jesus words reveals the heart of his ministry here with the creation of a New Family of God.
The creation of this family is symbolized by the beloved disciple taking Jesus’ mother into his home.
