I want to thank the Lord for the opportunity to go to Honduras with Cathy, Mark, Ginny and Joshua.
The trip was an incredible blessing to each of us.
There were only a few minor obstacles that arose, which I praise God for.
Thank you for your willingness and understanding as a congregation to give me the freedom to take time to minister in Honduras especially over Easter.
Several of the books, which several of you purchased are already being put to good use.
I’ll share more about this in the future.
We hope to have Danny and Grace Varela come to be with us in the near future and will take more time to share about our trip and their ongoing ministry at that time.
I want to thank the other Elders of this church for their support and encouragement before, during and after the trip.
Each of them were willing to lead a bible study and handle various other pastoral duties while I was away.
Special thanks to Stan for filling the pulpit last Sunday.
It is truly a blessing to have a group of Godly men who are willing and able to lead this church.
I’m extremely grateful for this congregation and the Lord for equipping our church by the work of the Holy Spirit.
God is good and His blessings are incredible.
When you think about something strong, what do you think of.
When I was a child, I remember thinking Popeye was strong.
I also remember thinking my dad was strong and in comparison to my strength, he was strong, but it didn’t take me long to realize he was not the strongest man alive.
His stature was about the same as mine.
Others of us, might think about superheroes, like Superman, or The Hulk.
Others might think about famous sports icons, like Mean Joe Green, Mike Tyson, or Jon Jones or maybe we might think about some of the characters in Scripture.
David and his mighty men or Samson.
Well early on in our study of Joshua we read the instructions that God gave to the new leader, Joshua.
Be Strong and Courageous.
This was the command God gave to Joshua not just once but 4 times in the first chapter.
We have covered quite a bit of territory since the first chapter in our study and today we are going to pick up the narrative in the middle of chapter 10.
Remember the battle of Gibeon, Joshua’s prayer, God’s working to pause the setting of the Sun and the victory that God is accomplishing in the narrative of the book of Joshua and more specifically, in chapter 10.

The Battle was the Lord’s and is the Lord’s!
Joshua and the Israelites were blessed participants in the work that God was doing.
The church of God are also partners with Him, to be used by Him to fulfill His will and bring His Kingdom to fulfillment.
What is the role of the church of the new covenant in this regard?
Proclaim the Gospel/Law of God
Love God and Love one another
This purpose and plan for man has not changed since the

When we choose to fear men, we are making them our gods.
Be kind and compassionate return evil with kindness.

Be STRONG & COURAGEOUS. . .
For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go!
Not arrogant & Proud

Christ taught us to pray, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed against us.
God alone is the righteous judge, and that is why He commanded Joshua and the Israelites to devote to destruction the kings and people of Canaan.
