AUTHOR: The author of this epistle is John, the beloved apostle.
RECIPIENTS : The recipients of 1 John were Christians of Asia Minor where John ended his days in ministry from Ephesus. Was Christians mature and young with an of mostly a Gentile.
THE PROBLEM: The Dualism Gnostic between flesh (body) and spirit or knowledge. The gonosticism did believe that the body is bad. Therefore they no believe in perfection of Christ.
THE PURPOSE:
1) To unmask the false prophets - Gnosticism (2.26) Therefore he start the chapter 1 skeaping about the your testimony as to incarnation of Jesus Christ;
2) To Teach the Believers about the certainty and trust of salvation (5.13)
This trust was evidenced and proved by three things:
a) Doctrinal proof - Jesus is the Christ the son of God
b) Social proof - Love for with people
c) Moral proof - Obedience the God’s Will

John did want show that one of the ways of to evidence the salvation is to love others people and to relationship with them (4.20; 5.16)
He show the importance of communion in life of church to evidence the love of God and demonstrate of salvation of each one.
